Novus Ordo Vatican Thugs Order Finland’s Only Latin Mass To Be Moved From Historic Cathedral To Modern Church

Quite frankly, I'm sick and tired of these modernists, novus ordo thugs hiding behind the Roman collar pretending to be faithful successors of the glorious Apostles who shed their blood for the salvation of souls.

These monsters absolutely hate Tradition and are emboldened by the despicable actions of the supposed pope sitting in the Chair of St. Peter, hell-bent on destroying whatever remains of the novus ordo church.

The goal here is to create a "church" made in the image and likeness of the evil one, not our dear Lord and God, Who gave all to save souls through His mighty and loving Church -- the true Catholic Church!

Right smack in the middle of the hot-bed of the heresy of Lutheranism, there is -- or was! -- a bastion of the Catholic faith expressed by the Mass of the ages, the traditional Latin Mass of the Saints and Martyrs, now relegated to a "modern church" and out of the magnificent historic St. Henry’s Cathedral in Helsinki.

These maniacs will stop at nothing in their diabolical goal of serving Satan, their real master!

Here is an article from lifesitenews.com and written by Andreas Wailzer  published on August 22, 2024...

"HELSINKI, Finland (LifeSiteNews) — The Vatican has ordered the only Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) in Finland to be moved from the main Cathedral in the capital city of Helsinki to a smaller, more modern church.

The Diocese of Helsinki announced on August 9 that the TLM will be moved from St. Henry’s Cathedral to St. Mary’s Church in September “in accordance with the Vatican’s wish.”

The diocese quotes the Dicastery for Divine Worship, which said that St. Henry’s Cathedral was a “model of the entire local church” and “a sign of unity,” and the TLM should, therefore, not be celebrated there anymore.

The diocese noted that the TLM had been celebrated in the cathedral since Pope Benedict XVI encouraged the use of the ancient Latin Rite with his 2007 motu proprio Summorum Pontificum.

St. Henry’s Cathedral was built between 1858 and 1860, mainly to serve Catholics working in the Russian Imperial Army, as the Lutheran country of Finland only had a very small population of Catholics. The church’s architecture is Gothic Revival, and the exterior shows statues of St. Henry, the patron saint of Finland, as well as Sts. Peter and Paul.

St. Mary’s Church, more than 5 kilometers (3 miles) away from the Cathedral, was built in the 1950s in a modern architectural style.

According to the Latin Mass Directory, this is the only TLM offered in a country with fewer than 20,000 Catholics.

Since the publication of Pope Francis’ motu proprio Traditionis Custodes in 2021, which restricted the use of the TLM, the Vatican has been cracking down on diocesan Latin Masses. Statistics from the Vatican’s liturgy office revealed that just 57 parishes worldwide were granted permission to offer the traditional Mass in 2022.

The Vatican’s justification for removing the TLM, namely that St. Henry’s Cathedral is a “sign of unity,” reveals the negative sentiment in Pope Francis’ Vatican against Catholics who prefer the traditional liturgy. Theology professor Andrea Grillo, reported to be the mastermind behind Pope Francis’ Latin Mass restrictions, has claimed that Catholics who attend the TLM are unfaithful to the Church and referred to participants of the traditional Chartres pilgrimage as a “sect.”'

End of article...

As you can see, these folks no longer hide their disdain for the TLM and label US as "unfaithful" and a "sect"!

I guess the bishop didn't have the guts to tell the Vatican to go pound salt and stay out of his diocese.  I guess that would be asking too much of a "bishop"!

Pray for strength and honor, because this lunacy will only get worse, and we will almost certainly face at least a "white martyrdom" and possibly a red martyrdom by these disgusting haters of Christ and His holy Church...

Atheist Who Tried To Prove Shroud Of Turin Was Fake Becomes Christian After Alarming Evidence!

 Yesterday, Wednesday, August 21, 2024, I wrote:

Scientists Make Breakthrough Discovery After Analyzing Cloth ‘Jesus Was Buried In’

Now comes this headline from the mirror.co.uk and written by Bradley Jolly

I'll let the article speak for itself...

Subheading: David Rolfe was interested in the Shroud of Turin, wanted to know where the Shroud of Turin is, and so set off on a journey, during which he says he found new evidence...

"An former Atheist who set out to prove the Shroud of Turin was fake has become Christian after encountering new evidence.

David Rolfe said he "cannot possibly understand anything else that could have produced that image" in reference to the picture of a blood-soaked imprint of a man matching Jesus Christ's description on cloth relic.

The filmmaker set out to make a documentary the Shroud of Turin, one of the most revered religious artifacts in history, and said he had intended to find a prosaic explanation.

But the photography expert, who is British, was so astonished with what he discovered, he's converted to Christianity. David spoke this week after more recent analysis of the artifact, using modern X-ray techniques once again placed the cloth's origin back to the time of Christ.

"I started off as an atheist, and then became an agnostic. And I'm now a Christian, because I cannot possibly understand anything else that could have produced that image," David said.

The Shroud of Turin
The Shroud of Turin is one of the most revered religious artifacts in history

The 14-foot-long shroud features a faint, brownish image of a five-foot, six-inch tall man with sunken eyes, wounds on various parts of his body that match the injuries suffered during Jesus' crucifixion.

David has put up a $1 million (around £770,000) prize for anyone who can recreate the shroud's image of a crucified man without showing traces of ink, paint or other agents. Prominent research in the 1980s appeared to debunk the idea the shroud was used to wrap Jesus' body because testing dated it to the Middle Ages, long after Jesus' death, but new research suggests otherwise.

David, who recently released a new documentary called Who Can He Be?, continued: "I am convinced [the Shroud of Turin] is authentic, I personally have no doubt."

The man explained the 1980 research focused on a small corner of the shroud which had been repaired some time between 1200 and 1400 due to wear and tear. It was paraded by bishops throughout history during religious ceremonies in Turin, Italy, where it is housed. This meant the fabric tested was older the the rest of the material, explained the filmmaker. The shroud also does not show signs of ink or dye that would suggested it was a fake - no visible trace of any paint, ink, dye, stain or pigments.

"Contestants must match both the pattern of bloodstains seen on the Shroud of Turin, and the composition of blood, including hemoglobin, bilirubin, immunoglobulin, and albumin," according to the rules of the challenge.

"In addition, the largest blood stains should exhibit surrounding areas of ultraviolet fluorescence as noted on the Shroud. When light and shade are reversed as in a photographic negative, the image must appear as a realistic and anatomically accurate representation of a body.'

David told Mail Online no one in his native Britain had claimed the $1 million prize. He added: "No one has come forward either from America to claim it. Once they realise what the actual image characteristics are on the cloth, they quickly realise that they can't reproduce it.'

More than 170 peer-reviewed academic papers have been published about the mysterious linen since the 1980s, with many concluding it to be genuine. Who the cloth relic belonged to is another matter, however."

Of course, the secular press had to stick this in the article, right?

Pray that more atheists come to believe by this miracle left behind by Our Lord!

Scientists Make Breakthrough Discovery After Analyzing Cloth ‘Jesus Was Buried In’

Even the secularists can no longer deny the Shroud of Turin's legitimacy, the reality that it is Christ, our Lord's, burial cloth!

Recently, several articles have made the rounds on various websites concerning new findings by scientists examining the cloth and blood stains found on the Shroud...

The following article is from breitbart.com and written by Dylan Gwinn

"A team of scientists analyzing the Shroud of Turin, a large piece of cloth believed by many to be the burial cloth of Jesus Christ Himself, have determined that the shroud does indeed date back to the time of Jesus’ life.

Using a new technique involving wide-angle X-rays, the Italian researchers at the Institute of Crystallography of the National Research Council concluded that the material used to make the cloth was manufactured around the time Jesus walked the Earth – about 2,000 years ago.

First displayed before the public in the 1350s, the Shroud of Turin was presented as the burial cloth Joesph of Arimathea used to wrap the broken body of Jesus Christ after crucifixion and death on the Cross.

However, in the 1980s, scientists cast doubt on this belief after a team of researchers examined the shroud and declared that it dated back only to the Middle Ages—hundreds, if not over a thousand years after Christ’s death.

Now, with more modern and advanced testing procedures contradicting the claims of the scientists who tested the cloth in the 1980s, there’s renewed belief that the fabric that contains the bloodstained imprint of a bearded man with his arms folded is indeed the burial shroud of Christ Himself.

The wrapping of Jesus’ body in a burial cloth is clearly outlined in Scripture.

According to Matthew 27: 59-60, “Then Joseph [of Arimathea] took the body and wrapped it in a new linen cloth. He put Jesus’ body in a new tomb that he had dug in a wall of rock. Then he closed the tomb by rolling a very large stone to cover the entrance. After he did this, he went away.”

The shroud itself tells a story consistent with the Passion narrative found in the four canonical gospels, detailing Jesus’ suffering and death. The cloth is marked with bloodstains consistent with the back and shoulder wounds Jesus suffered from His scourging. In addition, to the presence of thorn marks on the head.

The different methodologies used by the research teams who have analyzed the shroud reflect the changes and advancements in the processes used to authenticate ancient materials.

In 1988, researchers analyzed a piece of the shroud using a carbon dating system. This technique relies on studying the decay of a radioactive isotope of carbon (14C) to measure time and date objects containing carbon-bearing material.

Using this system, the 1988 researchers determined that the shroud was manufactured sometime between 1260-1390 AD.

In the most recent study, the Institute of Crystallography of the National Research Council used wide-angle X-ray scattering (WAXS).

“The technique measures the natural aging of flax cellulose and converts it to time since manufacture,” the Daily Mail reports. “The team studied eight small samples of fabric from the Shroud of Turin, putting them under an X-ray to uncover tiny details of the linen’s structure and cellulose patterns.”

Temperature and humidity factors led researchers to believe the shroud had been kept in temperatures that averaged 72.5 degrees Fahrenheit and 55 percent humidity for 13 centuries before being brought to Europe.

Scientists then compared the cellulose breakdown in the shroud to other fabrics dating back to 1st-century Israel and found them to be a match.

Conversely, none of the fabrics manufactured between 1260 and 1390 AD, the timeframe given by the 1988 researchers, were a match.

Researchers then took aim at the testing methodologies of the 1988 study, saying it should be viewed as invalid because fabrics become contaminated over time, rendering exact carbon dating difficult at best.

“If the cleaning procedure of the sample is not thoroughly performed, carbon-14 dating is not reliable,” said the study’s lead author, Dr. Liberato De Caro.

“This may have been the case in 1988, as confirmed by experimental evidence showing that when moving from the periphery towards the center of the sheet, along the longest side, there is a significant increase in carbon-14.”

Controversy has raged over the shroud since its unveiling, and despite the breakthrough findings of the Italian researchers, that’s unlikely to end. However, it’s getting harder and harder for critics to explain away this cloth that we now know was manufactured in the Middle East at the time of Jesus’s life and just happens to contain bloodstains corresponding to the Passion narrative in the Bible.

The Shroud of Turin has been preserved in the royal chapel of the cathedral of San Giovanni Battista in Turin, Italy, since 1578."

End of article...

I guess they'll always be non-believers, even if hard evidence is presented right smack in front of them...

But!  It should be mentioned that there have been several conversions of those scientists who have examined the Shroud over the years, coming to the realization of Who they were looking at!!!

Satan's Accomplice Sitting In The Chair Of St. Peter...

How can this be, you ask?

I ask that too.

Can the Bishop of Rome, Bergoglio, actually be in lockstep with the Ape of the Church, the anti-Christ, Satan?

When the evidence is so overwhelming, there cannot be any doubt.

From Bergoglio's constant encouragement to the heretic, pervert, James Martin, to his audiences with the alphabet soup people -- not to admonish them to amend their lives, but to tell them to stand firm on their "journey" -- to hell?

After all, "who am I to judge"!

Remember, the idea of evil having rights is a fairy tale...

Here is the latest error, heresy, scandal and confusion emanating from the mouth of Bergoglio.

Pope Francis urges Ugandan LGBT activist to ‘keep fighting for your rights’ - LifeSite (lifesitenews.com) Published August 19, 2024...

Pope Francis urges Ugandan LGBT activist to ‘keep fighting for your rights’

"VATICAN CITY (LifeSiteNews) — Pope Francis encouraged Ugandan LGBT activists to “keep fighting for your rights” during a private meeting after an anti-sodomy bill was signed into law by the country’s president in May 2023.

In an unannounced meeting last week, the Argentine Pontiff welcomed pro-LGBT activists from Uganda to the Vatican for a private audience. Prominent LGBT activist Clare Byarugaba stated that Francis told her during the meeting that “discrimination is a sin and violence against LGBTIQ communities is unacceptable.”

Byarugaba serves as diversity, equity and inclusion officer for Chapter Four Uganda, which is a “civil liberties” group modeled in part on the American Civil Liberties Union and includes the protection of homosexual activity as part of its mission.

Posting on X about the meeting with Francis, Byarugaba wrote that she told the Pope about “the ruinous impact of the Uganda’s *two in a decade Anti-LGBTIQ rights Laws*#AHA23 and the gross human rights violations therein. He reiterated;- Discrimination is a sin and violence against LGBTIQ communities is Unacceptable.”

Also present at the meeting was Ebenezer Peegah, an LGBT activist and director of Rightify Ghana.

“I told him that I joined the Catholic Church when I was young and we always prayed for the Pope,” Peegah wrote afterward. “I always asked myself if the Pope would pray for me as a queer person? But, his progressive statements brought hope. So, I thanked him.”

In a social media post, Rightify Ghana attested that “Pope Francis encouraged us to ‘keep fighting for your rights,’ and that’s exactly what we will do.”

The Catechism of the Catholic Church #2357 teaches that “‘homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.’ They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.”

The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith’s 1975 document Persona Humana also echoed this with the words, “There can be no true promotion of man’s dignity unless the essential order of his nature is respected.”

Homosexuality in Uganda

The law Byarugaba referred to in her conversation with Francis is the 2023 Anti-Homosexuality Act, which contains clear and forthright restrictions on the practice of homosexual actions. Approved by President Yoweri Museveni in May 2023, the law is “an act to prohibit any form of sexual relations between persons of the same sex; to prohibit the promotion or recognition of sexual relations between persons of the same sex; and for related matters.”

Under the terms of the Anti-Homosexuality Act, those who perform homosexual acts can face life in prison, and those who commit an aggravated homosexual act – such as rape, or acts committed with a child, or with a person who is mentally ill or advanced in age or drugged or who contracts a terminal illness from the sexual act – can face the death penalty.

As noted by Asuman Basalirwa, the politician who introduced the bill into Uganda’s parliament, the Act does not implement a mandatory death sentence in the case of an aggravated act. Instead, the death penalty is included as a possible maximum sentence in such cases. Basalirwa noted the death penalty is also a maximum sentence for other offenses in Uganda, including murder and terrorism.

The law has been internationally condemned by politicians, including Republican U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, “human rights” groups and LGBT activists. The U.S. and the World Bank levied financial and travel restrictions after the Act was passed into law.

Much reporting and activism has been levied against the mention of the death penalty in the anti-sodomy law, with few reports providing accurate information about the precise content and context of circumstances in which the death penalty is listed as a maximum sentence.

The Act has also faced legal challenges in Uganda. In April, the Constitutional Court ruled mostly in favor of the law but did strike down aspects of the law that criminalized providing premises for homosexual acts and the failure to report homosexual acts. Judges ruled that for such actions to be illegal would be “inconsistent with right to health, privacy and freedom of religion.”

Controversial group welcomes audience

Among Uganda’s most notable LGBT campaigners is Dr. Frank Mugisha, who welcomed Byarugaba’s papal audience. Posting online, Mugisha wrote, “We appreciate the Holy Father, Pope Francis, for meeting with LGBTQ activists from Africa. Thank you. Love is Love.”

Mugisha is the executive director of Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG).

As LifeSite has previously highlighted, SMU has reportedly been “sexually exploiting and recruiting” underage boys, offering payment to take part in homosexual pornographic films.

READ: Young Ugandan man accuses African pro-LGBT advocacy group of ‘exploiting’ him to do gay porn

According to one alleged victim documented by LifeSite, SMUG would indoctrinate him and other young attendees, many of whom are allegedly ages 13-17, with “fake lies about human rights” before proceeding to use their “well-equipped auditorium” to show them homosexual pornography and explain how it’s produced.

“And then they convinced them … that each video that you shoot, you’re given 5 million shillings,” he said. “I was sexually exploited and recruited into making gay porn videos. I happened to shoot several gay porn videos for SMUG, which … are actually uploaded on websites … for commercial purposes, of course.”

SMUG was ordered by the Ugandan government to be shut down in the fall of 2022, with official reasons being the group had failed to correctly register as an NGO. However, the victim says he presented Uganda’s National Bureau for NGOs with proof of “sexually trafficking, recruiting, sexually exploiting minors” into homosexual pornography and profiting off them.

Dr. Mugisha was named by Hilary Clinton as one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people of 2024."

It is quite apparent that the novus ordo "religion" is not Catholic, never was and never will be!  It is an abomination devoid of the Holy Ghost and sanctifying grace, period!

A Sister Speaks: ‘Cor Orans Is The Death-Knell Of Carmel.’ The Brutal Attack On Traditional Contemplative Nuns Continues Unabated!

Why to the modernists continue to attack traditional contemplative nuns and monks?

What are the modernists monsters so afraid of??

The answer to that question is in the question itself!

The modernists, by definition, hate tradition and any organization or person or persons who cling to the charism of religious communities founded centuries ago, and wish to live and work for the salvation of souls and buck the trend of the infiltrators destroying the true church, that's why...

I'm going to refer to two articles, one from 2018, posted on the remnantnewspaper.com and written by Hilary White:

The Remnant Newspaper - A Sister Speaks: ‘Cor Orans is the Death-Knell of Carmel’

And the second is from onepeterfive.com and written by The Community of Our Lady Co-redemptrix Carmelite Monastery, published August 16, 2024...

Here is the link to that article: Trad Carmelite Nuns Need Your Help! - OnePeterFive

Here is the 2018 article...

"Under the first part of my ongoing analysis of “Cor orans,” a commenter wrote: “When the enemy wants to take a soul, he tries to make it give up prayer.”

What, then, when the Enemy wants to take the Church?

The Vatican presents a choice: the world, or Christ.

“The Prologue [of the Rule of St. Benedict] set this choice before us, the world or Our Lord, as mutually exclusive alternatives; we cannot remain neutral, but must belong wholly to the one or wholly to the other.”
Dom Paul Delatte, OSB, Abbot of Solesmes

Today I received an email from a monastery of cloistered Carmelite nuns about the new document from the Vatican’s Congregation for Religious. They’re helping me examine this document, having kindly volunteered to serve as consultants, to help me understand it from an inside position. These, I might add, are not what we would consider a “traditionalist” community. They have only the Novus Ordo Mass and use the new rite Divine Office in their native vernacular language. For obvious reasons I can’t identify them, even to say what country they are in.

Writing to me in English, by way of introductory comments in their longer analysis of the document that will be forthcoming, Sister T, fully professed and a senior member of the monastery’s council, said, “The Cor Orans document is the death-knell of Carmel. It signals the end of the contemplative monastic life. Not only does it destroy the autonomy of the Monasteries, something Our Holy Mother St. Teresa was extremely insistent about, but it also removes the Superior, dissolves her authority and power, removes the financial independence of each Monastery, and destroys the specificity of each charism.

“This is a disaster. Especially for Carmel.”

17C6668B 6953 47CF B75A E6885958142B

I contrast this frightening comment with those coming from the man immediately responsible for “Cor orans,” Cardinal João Braz de Aviz, the Brazilian prefect of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life in a speech to religious formation directors in 2015, in which he laid out pretty clearly what was coming in this piece of legislation, 3 years later. In fact, as the National Catholic Reporter piece said, the meeting itself was “unprecedented,” 1200 formators of religious life gathered by the Congregation for Religious in order to hear the new marching orders.

This is the programme:

“Do not distance yourself from the great lines of the Second Vatican Council.”

“In fact, those that are distancing themselves from the council to make another path are killing themselves – sooner or later, they will die. They will not have sense. They will be outside the church. We need to build, using the Gospel and the Council as a departure point.”

After breathing this threat, the cardinal continued, saying that because modern people’s “needs” are fundamentally different from what they were in the past, there was no reason to stick too closely to what the founders and foundresses – people like St. Anthony, St. Augustine, St. John Cassian, St. Benedict, St. Bruno, St. Dominic, Sts. Francis and Clare, Sts. Teresa of Avila and John of the Cross - wanted. “These contexts have changed. And the council reminds us that consecrated life must be Christian discipleship ... must be discipleship of the founders that we remember, but also must be open to the culture of the present moment.”

“We must not be closed to new things. God is not static,” the cardinal said. “God is always new movement – of light, of heat, of demonstration. He speaks in every time to men and women with the true language of that time.”

The congregation’s Secretary, Archbishop José Rodríguez Carballo, is reported as saying, “With this explicit reference to the Second Vatican Council, we point to our profound conviction that the council is the point of reference, non-negotiable, in the formation to the consecrated life.”

Not the charism of the order, nor the rule, nor the Patristic tradition, nor the Doctors, nor the mystics, nor any of the 2000-year-old tradition of religious life, from the Desert Fathers to the giants of the Tridentine period; just Vatican II. And only, apparently, a single “interpretation” of it, if we are to judge by the soap and oil Braz de Aviz poured on the ruffled feathers of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious – the most virulently anti-Catholic organisation of “Catholic” religious in the world – and by his vicious persecution of the Franciscans of the Immaculate.

Carballo continues his remarks, giving us a clue as to his feelings towards strictly cloistered, contemplative religious life: “A consecrated life, a life in God but inserted in the ecclesial family, in the church – inserted in the world. Not in conflict with the world, but inserted in continuity,” he said.

It is to wonder what this man would make of a comment by the great Dom Paul Delatte, the second abbot of Solesmes and successor to the refounder, Dom Gueranger, who wrote in his commentary on the Rule of St. Benedict:

“The Prologue set this choice before us, the world or Our Lord, as mutually exclusive alternatives; we cannot remain neutral, but must belong wholly to the one or wholly to the other.”

“After entering into Christ by baptism and by the monastic profession, we should hold ourselves as far aloof from the world as possible and have no connection with it. There shall no longer be more intercourse between us than there is between two corpses: ‘The world is crucified to me and I to the world.’

“Let us be on our guard against thinking that it may sometimes be proper to soften the differences, to lessen the distance which separates us. The Apostle warns us that we can only please God by preserving the integrity of our true life: ‘No man being a soldier to God, entangleth himself with secular businesses: that he may please him to whom he hath engaged himself.’ The world itself is scandalised by our condescending to it, and the words of the Imitation [of Christ] are always fulfilled: ‘Sometimes we think to please others by our company; whereas we begin rather to be displeasing to them by reason of the bad qualities they discover in us.’”

How Cor orans will end St. Teresa of Avila’s reform of Carmel

Sister T. continued, saying that the document explicitly derogates the founding intentions of St. Teresa for whom real autonomy was a crucial element of her Carmelite reform. She acknowledges that cloistered orders of nuns have for some time been gathered into federations.

These are already doing the Cor orans programme, having shared initial formation programmes for postulants and novices, “ongoing formation” courses for professed nuns, a federal abbess or president who oversees all the federated monasteries. Their funds are already interconnected and they have regular meetings with and input from the male branches.

In 2015, Carmelite monasteries received a questionnaire from the Father General Fr. Saverio Cannistra, a Mexican and devotee of Liberation Theology, to ask if they wanted an International Commission of Nuns to oversee the female houses place of the Carmelite Fathers. This suggestion was rejected, to the annoyance of Maccise. Maccise also promoted the idea of having no superiors in the individual monasteries, but only federation presidents and shared formation of novices. The push for these changes is still on, however, under the current General, an Italian, Saverio Cannistrà. Given the Marxist leanings of the recent crop of Fathers General, it seems clear that what can be expected by “ongoing formation” is, in essence, some form of political indoctrination, sprayed over with a micro-thin layer of pious language.

But for Carmelite nuns, Sister said, these ideas are the antithesis of the intentions of St. Teresa. Authentic autonomy, independence of formation and finances, “are essential points of our charism that Our Holy Mother established and to do away with them is to do away with the charism.”

“They go against our Constitutions, even though Cor Orans states that everything is to be done in accord with the charism and Constitutions. Each Carmel has its own spirit, its own tempo, it’s own ‘feel.’ Each nun is called not just to the Order, but to a specific Carmel. Formation in common is something we’ve been fighting against for years.”

“To have a federal president who can decide to take the novices away, or take all our finances, or tell the Holy See we’re no longer ‘viable’ – this is a disaster. St. Teresa specifically set up the monasteries so that none of this would take place. And now it’s going to be done to us.”

She points to the extended length of formation for new nuns - previously six years for Carmelites and under Cor orans now nine years, as absurd, saying it will tend to impede new vocations.

“As though the Church is going to ask laypeople to be engaged for nine years before they marry. Our Constitutions already provide a three year extension of temporary vows if needed, but to make it mandatory will dissuade women from entering. It will also help the monastery become ‘less viable’ because by the time anyone younger is professed, the others will be dead.”

Another requirement will be for a “religious assistant,” a priest monitoring the monastery in addition to a chaplain, to be assigned by the federation. Sister writes that this was rejected “years ago” by Carmelite monasteries as undue interference. The religious assistant will have unprecedented powers. Article 23 states, for instance, “In discerning the foundation of a new monastery on the part of a single monastery, the Federal President and the religious assistant intervene to help the superior of the founding monastery. The discernment on the foundation of a new monastery by the Federation is made within the framework of the Federal Assembly.”

“One other thing that is very striking to me is the complete loss of our rights. There are no options in this document, no choices, no recourse. It’s all being done to us. In this day and age, when Pope Francis is proclaiming, if not Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity, then at least license and ‘choice’ for all, plus the ‘rights’ of women, here our rights are completely taken away.”

Another nun has written saying that they cannot conceive of what these people mean by “ongoing formation”. Judging from other documents from already-federated Carmelites in Europe, it means in practical terms going in groups away from the monastery for days or weeks at a time to take “courses” together with novices from other monasteries. The content of these course, of course, is to be formulated by teams of “experts” chosen by the Federation.

Sister writes, “Cloistered nuns have a very full horarium that does not allow for a lot of other things. We already have to deal with the million unexpected things that come up each day. I have no idea how we are going to implement all these ridiculous plans of ‘on-going formation’. Can they not comprehend that simply faithfully living our daily life provides plenty of on-going formation.”

Apparently not.

As I wrote in my first analysis piece, the document itself – that we must remember is a piece of legislation, a legal document laying out what all monasteries of contemplative nuns must now do – starts by laying out its working premise:

Pope Francis, in the wake of the teaching of Pope Pius XII and reaffirmed by Ecumenical Vatican Council II, intended to present in Vultum Dei quaerere the intense and fruitful path taken by the Church in the last decades, in the light of the teachings of the same Council and considering the changed socio-cultural conditions.

In other words, it is the “intense and fruitful path” of the last few decades of the Church since Vatican II that all monasteries of cloistered, contemplative nuns must now take. Anyone who imagines that this document’s authors will allow leeway, that there will be dispensations forthcoming for traditional or “conservative” communities from timid and cowed Vatican bodies like Ecclesia Dei, has failed to pay attention.

In the last 20 years, “conservative” Catholics have pointed to the flourishing – mainly in the US – of some groups of sisters who had turned away from the “intense and fruitful path” and re-established some of the traditional accoutrements of the religious life. They point to the Nashville Dominicans, the Missionaries of Charity, the Poor Clares of Alabama, where there are at least habits, (some) chant, common life and common apostolates. But it is these signs of refusal of the programme that have infuriated the despots of the New Paradigm who would not rest until every last individual house of religious life was co-opted, subverted to the new ideology. The little green shoots of hope that the faithful Catholic world so rejoiced to see are to be stamped back into the frost of Vatican II’s perpetual winter.

In the continuing analysis that will follow this article, we can see that the purpose of this document is to fulfill the totalitarian fantasies of the anti-Catholic revolutionaries, now nearing the end of their lives 50 years after their initial near-triumph. Its intention is mopping up; either to herd the remaining recalcitrants – those who have resisted even to the softened and conciliating degrees typical of “conservatives” – into the full post-conciliar “reform” instituted by the revolutionaries in the 1960s – or to close them.

The thing is, the result will obviously be the same either way. The whole world has seen what happens to religious life that takes on the VaticanTwoist New Paradigm. I have just received a document that was issued privately summarising the findings of a meeting of federated Discalced Carmelite nuns in Europe in 2009. The numbers are absolutely dismal.

Federation: Belgium
number of convents: 11
Number of nuns: 120
solemnly professed: 119
in formation: 1
average age: 73
Federation: Belgium - Luxembourg.
number of convents: 11
number of nuns: 122
solemnly professed: 117
in formation: 5
average age: 75

Federation: Germany
number of convents: 14
number of nuns: 178
solemnly professed: 170
in formation: 8
average age: 66

[They are much worse now!]

The rest are similar, and I’ll be analysing this document in some detail in the next piece in this series, but the rest of the responses to the Father General’s questionnaire tell a similar story. The German federation gave a summary of the efforts made to address these issues. “Path taken: For 15 years they have organized formation courses: on-going & initial formation, and for formators. Meetings for prioresses. Present Problems: Have got very old. Some sisters are in care-homes run by Franciscans. Possible Solutions: Two convents intend to amalgamate.”

This is the death spiral. And it is precisely this “intense and fruitful path” taken by nearly all the Catholic world’s monastics since 1965 that Cor orans is attempting to force on the very, very few holdouts."

End of article...

Since this article is already quite long, I'll just post the link to the second story... It is a good, but sad, read...
