Cardinal Müller Criticizes Bishops Banning Latin Mass, Says They Should Focus On ‘Salvation Of Souls’!!

Bishop Athanasius Schneider, auxiliary bishop of Astana, Kazakhstan, has underscored that the Holy Father does not have the right to suppress the Tridentine Mass, which served as the liturgy of numerous saints, emphasizing that it is not disobedient to continue celebrating or attending the ancient Mass:

"The faithful as well as priests have the right to a liturgy that is a liturgy of all the saints (…). Therefore, the Holy See does not have the power to suppress a heritage of the whole Church, it is an abuse, it would be an abuse even on the part of a bishop. In this case, you can continue to celebrate the Mass even in this form: It is a form of obedience (…) to all the popes who have celebrated this Mass."

"(LifeSiteNews) — Cardinal Gerhard Müller, during a Q&A session at the 2025 Call to Holiness Conference in Michigan with exorcist Father Chad Ripperger, asserted that it is “problematic” and “not pastoral” for bishops to place restrictions on the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM).

Cardinal Müller was responding to a question about why the Church gives the bishops the authority to restrict the celebration of the Mass according to the 1962 missal. The German prelate emphasized that bishops should respect the faithful who continue to be devoted to the TLM because the liturgical renewal proposed at the Second Vatican Council has not been completely successful.

Cardinal Müller further stressed that it’s problematic for bishops, who appear to be more concerned about liturgical uniformity than the unity of the faithful in believing the doctrines of the Church, to restrict the celebration of the ancient Roman rite that nourishes the faith of so many Catholics. His entire answer is viewable in the link below from 4:34 to 9:38.

[Go to the article on the website to see and hear his discussion.]

“We have (seen) the development of the different rites throughout 2000 years … The Latin rite has a certain development, but the structure, the substance of all the liturgical rites are the same,” he said. “The Second Vatican Council proposed not a reform but a renewal of the liturgy.”

“The (Second) Vatican Council said we have to continue with Latin as a unifying orientation of the liturgy, but we (also have) some spaces for the (vernacular) languages,” he added. “This liturgical renewal was not in all (senses) very successful and therefore Pope Benedict (XVI) said we have to respect all those good Catholics who want to continue with the older form of the Latin rite of (the 1962 missal).”

Cardinal Müller, citing Pope Benedict, highlighted that it’s significantly more important that the faithful are united in believing all the dogmas and doctrines of the Church than participating in the same form of the Roman rite, and that the bishops should be more concerned with the salvation of souls than traditional Catholics’ liturgical preferences.

“I think the behavior of some bishops (is) very problematic, when they are saying, ‘We are not interested that the people (are) participating in the Holy (traditional) Mass. Jesus said, ‘Do this in memory of me,’ and they are more interested in the unification of the external rites and not interested first in the salvation of the people,” the cardinal said.

He continued: “(We cannot say) ‘We only have this newer form (of the Mass) and the rest of the Catholics who are not content, they can leave … and go where they want.’ That is not pastoral; a good pastor is first interested in the salvation of souls.”

As extensively reported by LifeSiteNews, several bishops worldwide have imposed sweeping restrictions on the Latin Mass since the promulgation of the 2021 motu proprio Traditionis Custodes.

In recent months, Bishop Michael Martin, citing Traditionis Custodes, restricted the celebration of the Tridentine Mass in the Diocese of Charlotte to just one small chapel that could not accommodate all the faithful who wished to attend. Martin has also requested that altar rails no longer be used for the reception of the Holy Eucharist for the Novus Ordo Masses.

The restrictions are arguably worse in the Diocese of Knoxville, Tennessee, where Bishop Mark Beckman plans to end the celebration of the TLM at all three parishes where it is currently offered and replace them with Masses celebrated in Latin, but according to the rubrics of the Novus Ordo Missae, by the end of the year.

Since the promulgation of Traditionis Custodes, several other prelates have denounced the harsh restrictions on the TLM. Cardinal Raymond Burke has stressed that the Latin Mass was “never juridically abrogated” and that it is not permissible for a pope to pretend to wield “absolute power” to “eradicate a liturgical discipline.”

In this case, you can continue to celebrate the Mass even in this form: It is a form of obedience (…) to all the popes who have celebrated this Mass."'

Prevost Continues The Heresy Of The "Seamless Garment" Of Bergoglio!

But Bergoglio wasn't the first to invent this massive heresy, it was the anti-Christ "Cardinal" Bernadin of Chicago...

As you will read in this article from lifesitenews.com and written by Maike Hickson Fri Nov 14, 2025 - 3:45 pm EST: Catholic scholar warns Pope Leo's abortion remarks echo Francis-era moral confusion - LifeSite nothing has changed, in fact, it is worse, if that's possible...

"(LifeSiteNews) — Professor John Rao, the Chairman of the traditional Catholic Roman Forum and a retired professor of history of St. John’s University in New York City, recently gave LifeSiteNews an interview in Kansas City about the beginning of the new pontificate of Leo XIV and his recent September 30 comments regarding the issue of abortion.

Pope Leo had declined to comment on the fact that Cardinal Blase Cupich had expressed his intention to give an award to pro-abortion Senator Dick Durbin, claiming that he did not know many details of the case and adding that one has to look “at the overall work that a senator has done during … 40 years of service in the United States Senate.”

The Roman Pontiff then stated that “someone who says I’m against abortion but says I’m in favor of the death penalty is not really pro-life,” additionally asserting that “someone who says I’m against abortion but I’m in agreement with the inhuman treatment of immigrants in the United States, I don’t know if that’s pro-life.”

Professor Rao, whose Roman Forum is “dedicated to the broad defense of Catholic doctrine and Catholic culture,” and who has been for decades an outspoken critic of Modernism within the Catholic Church, showed himself “puzzled” and “troubled” by these papal remarks. “Inhuman treatment” of immigrants is not something one would be in favor of; on the contrary, it was “inhuman” to let so many immigrants into the country, especially in light of the fact that so many of the immigrant children get lost and abducted. In Rao’s view, the Pope should be “more nuanced” in his comments. But, as if to further support Cardinal Cupich – who caused so much indignation within Catholic circles with his intention to honor Durbin that the senator had to decline the award – the Pope made him two weeks later, on October 15, a member of the governing council of Vatican City.

Speaking to LifeSiteNews on October 19 in Kansas City, where he had just given a talk at the Angelus Press Conference, Rao said that he was on his way to the Summorum Pontificum Pilgrimage in Rome. He was “extremely grateful” that Cardinal Raymond Burke was given permission to celebrate a Pontifical High Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica. The professor added that his first impression of the new Pope after the conclave in May was “very, very encouraging,” and that he hopes for a “change of direction,” for a “different pontificate than that of Pope Francis.” In his eyes, a “change of direction” is “absolutely necessary.”

A sign of hope for Rao was that Pope Leo XIV seems to have some sympathy for the traditional Latin Mass. “Immediately after his election,” he told LifeSite, “I was contacted by an Augustinian, whom I know very, very well, who told me that he knew definitively that the Pope was not an enemy of the traditional Mass because he, as an Augustinian, had been granted permission to say the Mass by the current pontiff when he was the provincial, and now I have heard from a number of Augustinians a confirmation of the fact that he [the Pope] has occasionally said the traditional Mass. It may well be that on that liturgical plane it’s progress.”

Professor Rao believes that the traditional Mass will continue “its triumphant march forward”; there is a general “collapse” that is taking place in the Catholic Church, the faith 7-12 percent of Catholics still practice within the larger Church. He sees that in those churches that have the traditional Mass, the faith was flourishing.

Coming back to Pope Leo, the historian expressed his concern that the Pope does not seem to stop the Synod on Synodality and also that some of his appointments undercut the Church’s teachings.

But while he himself “cannot do anything about appointments,” he explained, “I can as a teacher discuss these matters seriously,” by “questioning” and hopefully to “enlist” some of the “very fine cardinals” that are still there.

A Catholic cannot declare himself “in favor of life” just because he has a position against abortion, and affirm at the same time that he is in favor of the death penalty. […] Those who defend the right to life of the most vulnerable must be equally visible in supporting the quality of life of the weakest among us: the elderly, children, the hungry, the homeless, and undocumented migrants.

“I was disturbed by the fact that there was a discourse earlier,” Rao commented on this newly discovered text, which means that what Pope Leo said at the end of September was “not just comments that were thrown out.”

Thus, the historian is not yet sure where this new pontificate will go. “I would be cautiously hopeful,” he expounded, “but very concerned at the same time” and try to “seek clarity.” “If we find out that there are statements that are good being undercut by gestures,” then that would be “something that follows in the path of Pope Francis.”

In conclusion, he said that “my hope is very much troubled.”'

Bishop Strickland DENOUNCES Pope Leo, Bishops For Scandalizing The Faithful!!!

In a stunning rebuke of Prevost and the majority of the U.S. bishops, Bishop Strickland justifiably lashes out at the hypocrisy of remaining silent in the face of horrendous scandals plaguing the new "synodal" church!

Bishop Strickland does not hold back!

See this article from lifesitenews.com and written by Antonino Cambria Fri Nov 14, 2025 - 8:28 pm EST: Bishop Strickland denounces Pope Leo, bishops for scandalizing the faithful - LifeSite

"(LifeSiteNews) — Bishop Joseph Strickland, in a lengthy X post Friday, asked Pope Leo XIV and all of the bishops how much longer they’ll continue to serve two masters and “scandalize the little ones” by turning a blind eye to sin.

In his November 14 post, the bishop emeritus of Tyler, Texas, questioned how long the bishops, the Vatican curia, and the Holy Father will continue to scandalize the faithful by their complacency in the celebration of irreverent and sacrilegious liturgies, welcoming same-sex “couples” into the Church without calling them to conversion, emphasizing welcoming migrants without addressing the effects of illegal immigration on native populations, and ultimately “halt between two masters.” (1 Kings 18:21) The bishop underscored that there are millstones ready to be distributed to Pope Leo a “truckload” for the Roman curia, and a “cargo load” for the vast majority of the world’s bishops who frequently scandalize the “little ones.” (Matthew 18:6)

“How long will you halt between two masters? If you believe Christ is Lord, then follow Him! If the world is your master, then go to it! But no longer profane His sanctuary while you betray the Cross!” the bishop wrote.

“Bishops, STOP with the games! STOP with the lies. STOP turning a blind eye to the little ones! A massive stockpile of millstones is ready to be distributed among you,” he added. “One for Pope Leo, a truck load for the Curia in the Vatican, and cargo ships full for the vast majority of today’s successors of the Apostles.”

Turning a blind eye to heretical Masses

His Excellency noted that while some may object to his “judging” these princes of the Church, it is these successors of the Apostles who have repeatedly inflicted harm on the little ones.

“No brothers, HOW DARE YOU inflict harm on the little ones over and over again??” the bishop wrote.

Delving into specific ways the bishops, including the bishop of Rome, have scandalized the faithful, Strickland noted that they mock the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass by turning it into little more than a “bauble” and often use these sacred liturgies to promote heresy.

“(Y)ou make the Sacred Sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the Holy Mass, a bauble, a bargaining chip for your worldly conniving, a platform for spewing heresy and playing footsie with the world,” he wrote.

Welcoming unrepentant ‘married’ homosexuals into the Church

Strickland highlighted how priests and bishops frequently scandalize the faithful by welcoming homosexual “couples” into the Church, and Pope Leo grants them an audience without calling them to repentance for their disordered lives.

“You harm the little ones when you welcome couples caught up in sin, flaunting their sad disordered lives, and instead of calling them to repentance in Jesus Christ you have a chat about silly things and are acclaimed for being so kind,” he said. “You even welcome them into the sacred sanctuary and drape a veil of blessing over the dung of their sin.”

Within the last week, the notoriously pro-LGBT Jesuit Father James Martin celebrated a confirmation Mass for the openly homosexual ABC News correspondent Gio Benitez, who is “married” to another man. Benitez even credited Martin for his return to the Church, noting that the dissident priest had welcomed him into the Church “exactly as I am.” His partner, Tommy DiDario, whom he referred to as his husband, served as his sponsor.

READ: Fr. James Martin celebrates Confirmation Mass for homosexual ABC News anchor

According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, marriage is defined as “The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.”

The Catholic Church also condemns homosexual activity, declares homosexual inclinations “objectively disordered,” and calls homosexuals to chastity and conversion.

During this week’s USCCB Fall assembly, Strickland questioned the Confirmation of the openly gay news anchor.

“I don’t know how many of us have seen on social media,” His Excellency began during the question period. “Priests and others gathered, celebrating the Confirmation of a man living with a man openly. And it just needs to be addressed.”

The USCCB refused to respond to Strickland’s concerns. Instead, session chair Bishop Daniel E. Flores acknowledged his question, saying, “Thank you, Bishop.”

Flores then promptly moved on to the next agenda item without engaging the substance of the intervention or inviting further discussion from the panel or other bishops.

Pope Leo also held a private audience with Alex Capecelatro, CEO of Josh.ai, and his homosexual “husband” Brian D. Stevens, a philanthropist who is a member of the Knights of Malta despite his scandalous lifestyle at the Vatican this week.

During the audience, the same-sex “couple” shared with the Pope how much Fr. Martin’s pro-LGBT activism “means to them,” to which Leo reportedly “nodded approvingly at the mention of that (so-called) ministry,” according to Letters from Leo, a website authored by a Democratic Party operative, Christopher Hale.

Hale further stressed that Leo did not clarify Church teaching during the audience but appeared to accept the two homosexuals as is.

Welcoming illegal aliens with open arms

Finally, Strickland noted that the bishops have urged the faithful to welcome “migrants” and staunchly oppose the enforcement of immigration law, but most will not speak about the hordes of criminals who cross the border illegally.

“You harm the little ones when you promote lawlessness and turn a blind eye to the rapes, the murders and the attacks of nefarious criminals who waltz across open borders,” he said. “Some of the little ones are caught up in these mass migrations and trampled upon as they seek a better life. Some of the little ones find their homes and towns invaded as shepherds say ‘we must welcome the stranger,’ and then allow marauders and criminals free rein.”

Since Trump returned to the White House in January, the U.S. bishops, Pope Francis, and then Pope Leo have repeatedly denounced his administration’s attempts to curb mass immigration. Pope Leo has repeatedly said that the faithful will be judged for how they “receive the foreigner,” and even falsely suggested that supporting the purported “inhuman treatment of immigrants in the United States” under Trump is the same as supporting abortion.

READ: Pope Leo clearly opposes Trump’s immigration policies. Here’s what he fails to understand

As Strickland noted, the vast majority of Catholic prelates, while correctly stating that countries have an obligation to treat all migrants with human dignity, have largely failed to mention the issue of the heinous crimes committed by MS-13 gang members and others entering the United States illegally, and how they are violating the human dignity of its citizens.

Other bishops have also been critical of the open border policies of the majority of Western nations.

In 2018, Bishop Athanasius Schneider told an interviewer from Milan’s Il Giornale that “the phenomenon of so-called ‘immigration’ represents an orchestrated and long-prepared plan by international powers to radically change the Christian and national identities of the European peoples.”'

"Wicked And Cruel"... New "Bishop" Of Austin Directs Priests To Remove Kneelers For Communion!!!

Not only is this insulting to Our Blessed Lord -- and the Real Presence -- it is also stupid that a supposed bishop of the Catholic Church would restrict the faithful to kneel and basically force those to receive the Eucharist standing!

What's next??

Have you noticed this despicable trend ever since Leo took the Chair of St. Peter?

Where is the pushback from Rome?

There isn't any.

And my guess is that there won't be.

Notice too that Prevost is following in the footsteps of Bergoglio and emboldening the filth of the sodomites and the body mutilators of the so-called LGBTQ maniacs with in-your-face photo ops, private audiences and encouraging them without the call to conversion?

How sick is that?

And now taking away kneelers?

How petty is that?

From lifesitenews.com and written by Emily Mangiaracina Fri Nov 14, 2025 - 4:09 pm EST: New bishop of Austin directs priests to remove kneelers for Communion: ‘Wicked and cruel’ - LifeSite

‘I hope Catholics in Austin defy their bishop and call him to repentance for his wickedness and cruelty,’ said senior editor of The Federalist and Catholic convert John Daniel David."

"AUSTIN, Texas (LifeSiteNews) — The new bishop of the Diocese of Austin has asked pastors to no longer use kneelers for the reception of Holy Communion.

Bishop Daniel Garcia “asks that the practice of setting out a kneeler for Holy Communion be discontinued,” wrote Vicar General James Misko in a November 12 letter to pastors of the diocese, denounced as a “sinister memorandum” by Damian Thompson, who posted it to X.

Misko cited three reasons as the basis for the decision, including the fact that the “norm” is to receive Holy Communion standing in the U.S., as determined by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

The use of kneelers (prie-dieus) during Holy Communion “could confuse the faithful” about this norm, while communicating that kneeling to receive the Eucharist is “more appropriate,” Misko continued.

READ: Archbishop Cordileone promotes kneeling for Holy Communion on social media

Setting out a kneeler near the distribution of Holy Communion also allegedly “could put undue pressure on the communicant” to receive kneeling, the directive stated.

Misko had noted that the use of kneelers for the reception of Holy Communion “has become more common” in the diocese in recent years.

Pastors were instructed to explain to communicants who have difficulty getting up without a rail after kneeling that “they are not offending God by not kneeling” and that the priest recommends that they receive standing.

Misko acknowledged that communicants are “permitted to kneel” for Holy Communion.

“It’s wicked and cruel to deprive the faithful of the practical means of reverencing the real presence of Our Lord,” said John Daniel Davidson, author and Senior Editor of The Federalist, in response to the directive.

“I came into the Catholic Church in this diocese, and from faithful priests and pious fellow parishioners I learned that it is indeed more reverent to kneel when receiving, and I came to know and experience that fact first-hand. I hope Catholics in Austin defy their bishop and call him to repentance for his wickedness and cruelty.”

Lisa Marie decried the pretext for the decision as “dishonest.”

If one wishes to stand, they can do so in front of the kneeler,” she remarked on X. “But if one wishes to kneel & needs help, they can’t do it without the kneeler. So the proper thing to do is to have at least one kneeler. Explain it to the congregation & there’s no confusion.”

Bishop Garcia’s suggestion that kneeling is not a more reverent posture to receive the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Holy Communion defies Scripture, which highlights bending of the knee as a gesture of reverence proper to God.

“That in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those that are in heaven, on earth, and under the earth,” St. Paul wrote in a letter to the Philippians. (Philippians 2:10)

As God Himself, the Eucharist deserves nothing less than a posture of profound reverence. Whereas the posture of kneeling is proper to worship of God Himself, standing is a posture one uses when interacting with an equal.

Accordingly, the tradition of the Catholic Church for many centuries, unbroken until after the Second Vatican Council, is that the lay faithful receive the Blessed Sacrament, administered by a priest (his hands having been consecrated for the handling of the sacred Eucharist) on the tongue while kneeling.

Furthermore, a recent study confirmed that traditional liturgical practices surrounding the Eucharist, including the manner in which He is received, increase belief in the Real Presence of Our Lord in the Eucharist.

In fact, Dr. Natalie Lindemann, the author of the study, suggested reinstalling altar rails and offering kneelers during Holy Communion at churches to increase belief in the Real Presence.

Bishop Michael Martin of Charlotte has similarly recently requested that altar rails no longer be used for the reception of Holy Communion. He previously received heated backlash for the leaked draft of a letter in which he condemned traditional practices such as the use of Latin, priests praying before and after Mass, and the use of any traditional acts of reverence by priests in cleansing the sacred vessels."

Truly Sick And Disgusting: This Is The Face Of The New, Novus Ordo, "Synodal Church" Of The Sodomites And LGBTQ Maniacs!

More proof of the total capitulation of the current regime in apostate Rome, yes, even under the papacy of Leo -- just a continuation of the madness that has infected the Vatican since 2013!

The sick and disgusting "Fr." J. Martin (a heretic that has been automatically excommunicated!) and his equally sick and disgusting "confirmation" of the poor soul of Gio Benitez -- the "wife" of Tommy DiDario — whom he referred to as his “husband” -- served as his sponsor.

From lifesitenews.com and written by Jonathon Van Maren Thu Nov 13, 2025 - 6:00 am EST: Fr. James Martin celebrates Confirmation Mass for homosexual ABC News anchor - LifeSite

(LifeSiteNews) — ["]Fr.["] James Martin, a Jesuit priest and LGBT activist, made headlines once again as openly homosexual ABC News correspondent Gio Benitez credited him for bringing him back into the Catholic Church “exactly as I am.” His partner Tommy DiDario — whom he referred to as his “husband” — served as his sponsor.

Benitez, a weekend co-anchor on Good Morning Americashared a video of his Confirmation Mass at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle in Manhattan on Monday.

“Six months ago, the death of a humble pope unexpectedly took me on a journey that was a lifetime in the making,” he wrote. “(Fr. James Martin) was on GMA speaking about Pope Francis’ legacy of inclusivity. His words struck me. It was the first time I had seen a Catholic priest speaking in such a beautiful way about LGBTQ people.”

He added, “When we’re able to love and love freely and openly — and love ourselves as well — we are a long ways down the road to fulfilling the Kingdom of God.”

Benitez wrote that he became convinced that he could recommit to the Catholic faith of his youth — he was baptized with his mother at age 15 — while identifying as an LGBT person, thanked Martin and several other priests, and concluded, “I found the Ark of the Covenant in my heart, stored there by the one who created me … exactly as I am.”

Benitez entered into a same-sex “marriage” with DiDario in 2016. Beneath the video posted to Instagram, DiDario wrote, “Standing beside you and watching you step into something that fills you with such joy and peace was one of the greatest honors of my life. I’m endlessly proud of you and so grateful to be both your sponsor and your husband. I love you more than words can say.”

Martin added a one-word comment: “Welcome!” He also posted a photograph of himself standing with Benitez and DiDario with the caption: “Welcome to the Catholic Church … Gio! I was so happy to … participate in the reception into full communion with the church for Gio at a Mass at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle.”

This is merely the latest incident in Martin’s long track record of seeking to bring LGBT ideology into the Catholic Church and undermine fundamental doctrines on marriage and sexuality; People magazine referred to Martin as “a major advocate for LGBTQ+ people in the Catholic Church.”

“Father James Martin, S.J., is a dangerous voice within the Catholic Church,” LifeSiteNews’ Doug Mainwaring wrote recently. “He wants to deprive those who experience unwanted same-sex attraction or gender dysphoria from receiving the help they crave. He would prefer to keep men and women, boys and girls, enslaved in lives from which they seek freedom.”

(My emphasis.)

Martin sees himself as continuing the legacy of Pope Francis, which he did much to personally influence. “Pope Francis did more for LGBTQ Catholics and LGBTQ people in general than all of his predecessors combined,” Martin told NPR earlier this year. “He was the first pope ever to use the word gay. He called for the decriminalization of homosexuality. He met with LGBTQ people. He met regularly with transgender people.”

As LSN Editor-in-Chief John-Henry Westen noted in September, Martin has urged Catholic parishes to celebrate Pride Month, publicly opposed Catholic parents “fighting to shield their children from sexualized school curricula,” advocated the use of LGBT language, and “praised and performed blessings of same-sex unions.” Martin’s latest PR stunt can be added to that list."'

This madness must be resisted at all costs!

Notice there is no call to repentance, no call to go to confession, no mention of the danger to the soul of these folks, no mention of the four last things: death, judgment, Heaven, hell.
