I guess the Saints and Martyrs died in vain not seeing the "reforms" of Vat. II and the new "mass".
If only they knew how awesome the new "mass" was going to be, they would have prayed to see and experience it before they shed their blood, but alas, all those they converted by exposing them to the TLM was just a stupid mistake -- just a spectacle!
Why is Cupich still the failed head of the archdiocese of Chicago?
He hit the mandatory retirement age about two years ago!
Of course, I know the answer to my question: Bergoglio and now Prevost, are using him as a continuing battering-ram to deprive faithful Catholics of the most beautiful thing this side of Heaven -- the TLM, and of course, as a counter to President Trump, as that other heretic, "cardinal" McElroy of D.C. being used for the same purpose.

It is painfully obvious that these "hierarchs" are not Catholic in any sense of the word and are part of the APE of the true Church as Archbishop Sheen quipped many years ago.

"(LifeSiteNews) — In a commentary on Pope Leo XIV’s apostolic exhortation Dilexi Te, Chicago’s Cardinal Blase Cupich described the Traditional Latin Mass as a “spectacle” and said that the post-Vatican II reforms to the liturgy had a “purifying” effect.
Writing in Vatican News on October 21, Cardinal Cupich reflected on how the exhortation urges the Church to recognize the poor in the same way, he believes, that the Second Vatican Council approached the reform of the liturgy.
“The renewal of our worship was pursued in keeping with the Council Fathers’ desire to present to the world a church defined not by the trappings of world power but marked by sobriety and simplicity … allowing it to take up in a fresh way the mission of proclaiming good news to the poor,” said Cupich.
Cupich later stated that the pre-Vatican II liturgy’s adaptations over time had “transformed the liturgy’s aesthetics and meaning, making the liturgy more of a spectacle rather than the active participation of all the baptized for them to be formed to join in the saving action of Christ crucified.”
“By purifying the liturgy of these adaptations, the aim was to enable the liturgy to sustain the Church’s renewed sense of herself…”
Cupich’s latest remarks on the Traditional Latin Mass come as little surprise to many observers, as he has been a consistent critic of the rite and has imposed significant restrictions on its celebration in the Archdiocese of Chicago while at the same time allowing heterodox parishes to celebrate pro-LGBT Masses.
Just last month, Cardinal Cupich made similar comments on the traditional form of the liturgy when he remarked that, “Tradition is the living faith of the dead, traditionalism is the dead faith of the living.”
“These reforms were a direct response to the centuries of development that erroneously had transformed the Mass from a communal event into a more clerical, complex and dramatic spectacle.”
Cupich’s latest comments came during the same week as Cardinal Burke celebrated a Pontifical Latin Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica for the 14th annual Summorum Pontificum Pilgrimage, which hosted a record turnout.
Cupich concluded his article by claiming that the new “sobriety” of the liturgy has renewed the centrality of the Eucharist. However, surveys show that only about 33 percent of U.S. Catholics believe in the Church’s teaching on the Real Presence in the Eucharist."
