Strong Warning From (REAL!) Cardinal Zen: Synod Aims ‘To Overthrow’ Church’s Hierarchy For ‘A Democratic System’

The once-prisoner of the Red Chinese, Cardinal Zen, stated: 'Obviously, the purpose of this conference was to overthrow the hierarchical class of the church and implement a democratic system,' wrote Cardinal Joseph Zen about the Synod on Synodality.

"VATICAN CITY (LifeSiteNews) — Cardinal Joseph Zen has issued a strong warning about the Synod on Synodality and the persistent division resulting from Fiducia Supplicans, saying the “future of the Church” is “uncertain” unless issues are resolved.

“I feel most anxious about how this so-called ‘synodality’ of the Synod of Bishops can be concluded smoothly,” began Zen, the emeritus bishop of Hong Kong.

The cardinal’s latest essay, published October 17, renews his prior concern and criticism about the Synod on Synodality, but also ties in to the controversial 2023 declaration Fiducia Supplicans which approved same-sex “blessings.”

Synodality to ‘overthrow’ the Church’s hierarchy

Zen presented a traditional understanding of a synod, explaining that “there is a church document that explains the Synod (meeting), an important historical fact of the Church, that the Synod is a structure in history through which the hierarchy leads the Church.”

The Synod on Synodality is comprised of lay and clerical voters, in a seismic change which has prompted much criticism that it is no longer a Synod of Bishops. Synod leaders have persistently posited the “common dignity of Baptism” as the rationale behind lay and clerical voters present at the Synod.

But Zen warned that while all the Church should engage in “the mission of evangelization,” only “the hierarchy can ensure the direction of the Church’s journey and safeguard the content of the faith handed down from the apostles. Jesus entrusted the Church to the ‘apostolic college headed by Peter,’ and the successors of the apostles are the bishops.”

The synod’s multi-year process and large scale plan for involving people was “unprecedented in its scale,” commented Zen.

But he raised concerns about the procedure:

At the continental level, the central secretariat clearly exercised strict control using specific procedures: emphasis on sharing and avoidance of discussion. Unexpectedly, the same approach was used at the official Synod.

“The Pope had the right to convene any advisory meeting, but the Synod of Bishops pioneered by Pope Paul VI was specifically designed to enable the Pope to hear the opinions of his brother bishops,” he added. “With ‘non-bishops voting together, it was no longer a Synod of Bishops.”

Outlining a way for the meeting to be true to the identity of a synod, Zen opined that “it should return to the way it was when the Synod was first established, which worked well for many years: that is, to let the bishops lead, discuss and vote, and present their recommendations to the Pope for his consideration as fellow bishops.”

He urged his fellow bishops to “fight for more power, and at least prevent non-bishops from voting with them.”

Same-sex blessings

Zen levied particular criticism at Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, S.J. – Relator General of the 16th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops; Cardinal Mario Grech – Secretary General of the General Secretariat of the Synod; and Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernández – prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith:

From the beginning of this synod, the two cardinals leading the assembly and the Pope’s appointed head of the doctrinal office did not emphasize preserving the faith, but emphasized making changes to, in particular, the operational structure of the Church and its ethical teachings; and the ethical justification of “sex,” especially regarding homosexual relationships.

Zen made reference to the famous Dubia he issued with four other cardinals last year which pertained, among other things, to the subject of same-sex “blessings.” The Pope’s lengthy reply, approving same-sex “blessings” in some cases, came just one day later – which prompted Zen last year to suggest it had been pre-written by the synod leaders.

This charge he repeated in his new essay: “The answer could not have been written by the Pope himself that day. It was obviously prepared by the person in charge of the conference to support their arguments for changing the Church’s doctrine.”

Confusion must be resolved for future of the Church

Zen has been a leading critic of Fiducia Supplicans, calling on its author, Cardinal Fernández, to resign while warning that it is “a heresy when you call a sin as something good.”

Francis and Fernández have stated that the document is not up for further discussion, something which Zen now styled as “a rude act, not allowing the bishops to discuss it, and ‘they’ have reached a conclusion on that issue.”

He highlighted the “major split within the church and chaos among the faithful” following the document’s release last December. “This was rare in the history of the Church,” he said, adding that while “the Pope and the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith expressed their ‘understanding’ in the face of this situation,” they did not withdraw the document.

“Will this issue be discussed at the 2024 meeting?” he queried.

Zen urged his brother bishops to persuade the Pope not to implement Fiducia Supplicans, and warned that if the issue “is not resolved at the meeting [Synod 2024] the future of the Church will be very uncertain”:

I would have thought that at least the question of blessing same-sex partnerships should be spared endless debate. I hope the bishops will persuade the Pope to decide to postpone the implementation of that statement sine die (indefinitely). Jesus told Peter, “Tu aliquando conversus, confirma fratres tuos” [“thou, being once converted, confirm thy brethren,” not] After you have thoroughly considered it, confirm your brothers.

If this issue is not resolved at the meeting, the future of the Church will be very uncertain, because some friends of the patriarch and the pope who insist on changing Church traditions continue to vigorously promote their plans.

He decried the LGBT lobby which he described as “actively promoting their plans outside the assembly hall while the assembly is in session,” as evidenced by recent events hosted by Father James Martin and New Ways Ministry.

“What is worrying is that even those so-called ‘new pastoral ministers’ who advocate gender change have been warmly received by the Pope in recent days,” continued Zen, making a direct reference to to New Ways Ministry’s papal audience last weekend.

Synod to split the Church?

Members of the synod are currently discussing whether to afford local bishops’ conferences increased autonomy, including on whether to be able to decide doctrine on a local level. The question has reportedly received pushback in the synod hall, but it remains to be seen what the final document will recommend to the Pope.

READ: Synod proposal could give ‘doctrinal authority’ to local bishops’ conferences

Warning about this focus and synodality itself, Zen said that “this is tantamount to discussing whether lay people should have more rights to ‘share’ the responsibilities of hierarchical ‘pastors.’”

“If those advocating this change cannot win over the whole Church, will they fight for diversity among local churches?,” he questioned.

Will individual Bishops’ Conferences have an independent position on matters of faith? This is a frightening prospect. If this idea succeeds, we will no longer be Catholic (the Anglican Church in London has approved same-sex marriage, and their followers have become a minority of less than 20% of the global Anglican Church. Can we not be vigilant?)

The cardinal closed by recommending his readers not to be anxious but to turn to prayer and penance in the timeless custom of the Church:

It is useless for us to be anxious about these problems. Fasting, praying (especially the rosary)! We must never despair."

Recognizing Heresy And Apostasy Is Different Than Judging Someone To Be A Heretic Or An Apostate!

God gave us practicing Catholics a mind and an intellect to be able to judge right from wrong, good from evil, orthodoxy from heresy, by the standards of what the Church has always and everywhere taught and believed down through the centuries as opposed to the novelty and modernism of the present day.

If we don't make such judgments, we will be held accountable for our actions or inactions, whether by our words or what flows from our pens and what we pound out on our keyboards.

Dare!  Dare anyone compromising with or appeasing the heterodoxy and zeitgeist that has been emanating from those wolves in sheep's clothing simply to go along to get along -- for so-called "church unity" -- are not worthy of calling themselves followers of Christ, Our Lord!

If we have to suffer for Christ, then so be it.  But if we submit to error, heresy, scandal and confusion, then we are not Catholic, period!

What we must do, is to continue to pray -- and act! -- like true Catholics and shun the lunacy we see in the new, novus ordo "church"!

The aim of the current regime in Rome is to create a different "church" -- this is not my opinion, but a stated fact in the documents and the lexicon of synodality.

Can this new "church" get any worse??

The answer is a resounding, yes!

By the way, what is synodality, exactly?  Can anyone figure that one out??

Satan Possess The Intellects Of The Novus Ordo Hierarchy! The Bizarre Conspiracy Of The Sodomites And Their Accomplices In The Vatican -- And The U.S.

Ever since the 90-plus-minute meeting of the diabolical creatures mentioned in this article -- who have mutilated their bodies, "changing" their birth sex to some hellish Frankenstein, man-made creation -- and the presumed pope, new information has surfaced that further reveals the real aim of apostate Rome and their accomplices in the U.S.: to forever change the unchangeable Church teaching on the sin that cries to Heaven for vengeance!

Pope Francis said he will consider 'openness' to 'transgender people' when naming new US bishops: report - LifeSite (lifesitenews.com)

The subheading: Pope Francis allegedly ‘said that when he appoints new bishops in the US he will consider their openness to [so-called] transgender people as a criteria,’ according to a member of a meeting between Francis and the LGBT activist group New Ways Ministry.

"VATICAN CITY (LifeSiteNews) — Two people who participated in Pope Francis’ private meeting with New Ways Ministry on Saturday have attested that the Pope committed to consider “openness to transgender people” as a criteria for appointing new U.S. bishops.

According to Deacon Raymond Dever, who was cited in The Times, Francis was impacted by the closed-door meeting he had with LGBT activists.

The Times reported Dever – who was one of the 11 guests of Francis in the meeting – as saying that “Francis mentioned that situations experienced by [so-called] transgender people will be more on his mind.”

Dever added that “He [Francis] said that when he appoints new bishops in the US he will consider their openness to transgender[-identified] people as a criteria.”

The Times cited another member of the meeting who attested hearing the quoted comment from Francis.

LifeSiteNews contacted New Ways Ministry – the LGBT group that sponsored the meeting – asking if they could confirm the remarks attributed to Pope Francis, but did not receive an answer.

Held on Saturday, the meeting between Francis and the New Ways Ministry group lated nearly 90 minutes.

The guests “urged” Francis “to move past the Church’s negative approach” to so-called “gender-diverse people, and to encourage Church leaders to listen more attentively” to what they called “the lives and faith of LGBTQ+ people.”

READ: Pope urged to approve ‘sex changes’ during meeting with New Ways Ministry

Dever was one of five people in the meeting who shared a personal testimony with Francis. A retired married deacon, Dever is father of a “transgender” male who attempted suicide after “transitioning.”

Delivering his testimony to Francis, Dever stated about his son (now living as a “woman”) that “with our unconditional love and support, [he] eventually came out and transitioned fully, socially, legally, and medically, a process that took almost 10 years – if [he] hadn’t done that, [he] probably wouldn’t be alive today.”

However, transgender drugs have been linked to bone density losssuicide risk, and other major medical problems and can leave individuals permanently infertile. Transgender surgeries aim to remove healthy organs, including genitals, thus making individuals infertile and mutilated.

Dever claimed that gender-confused people “are being excluded from the life of the church in too many dioceses and parishes – they are denied the sacraments, they are not allowed to attend Catholic schools.”

Instead, Dever and his wife urged the Church “to talk about, to learn, and to discern the truth about these issues.”

Catholic teaching rejects transgender ideology, affirms the reality of the two sexes, and condemns bodily mutilation, such as “gender transition” procedures, as “against the moral law.”

Another individual who testified at the meeting was “Michael Sennett,” a “transgender man” involved in church work “for many years,” who told Francis that he appreciated having had “sex-change” surgery.

There are a number of U.S. episcopal sees which could become vacant in the coming years as bishops reach the age of 75, at which point they submit their retirement to Francis who makes a decision on whether to accept it.

A number of prelates already seen as very much in line with Francis’ thinking, and open to LGBT issues, are already in key sees. Indeed, just two days before the NWM meeting Francis met with three of the U.S. bishops who conform to this description.

Cardinals Joseph Tobin, Blase Cupich and Robert McElroy were all received in private audience, with Tobin telling journalists the next day that he had personally requested it.

He said briefly that they discussed the Church, synodality, and “discernment,” stating that they are topics that the three cardinals talk about amongst themselves.

Notably, D.C. Cardinal Wilton Gregory was not present, stating later that “I didn’t get the invitation.”

NWM was co-founded by Sister Jeannine Gramick, the heterodox pro-LGBT nun whose official Vatican censure remains in place, though she has received signal favor from Francis in recent years.

Gramick was personally censured by the Vatican in 1999, and in 2010 the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) further declared that New Ways Ministry “has no approval or recognition from the Catholic Church” to speak on the LGBT issue."

End of article...

The three "cardinals" shown above, are notorious heretics and sodomites and are leading these poor souls on the path to hell!

But they don't care, because all they want is to fulfill their sexual lust and corrupt other confused and scandalized "Catholics," instead of being true shepherds as their office dictates!

Traitors!

Not only that, but they also want a "new church" that embraces the zeitgeist and the soon to arrive (?) anti-Christ!

Pray for the defeat of these modernist monsters -- and for their conversion before it is too late!

More Proof Of The Crimes Against Humanity: Nurse Testimonials Reveal ‘Perfect Storm’ Of Hospital COVID Protocols Leading To Patient Death

 And all for filthy lucre!

My brother-in-law was a victim of those devilish minions who valued the almighty dollar over human life and service to mankind...

It is hard to believe that even today, there are still dumbed-down Americans walking around with face diapers!

What are they afraid of, and why?

Perhaps it is because they are brainwashed and believe everything read to them on the 6 o'clock "news," including the latest scare tactics preceding the next "pandemic" that will surely usher in more draconian dictates, stealing more and more of our liberties all for the sake of security?!

Ben Franklin condemned that lunacy, stating that those who sacrifice their liberties for security, deserve neither!

Almost every day more information surfaces revealing the deadly protocols prescribed by greedy hospital doctors and administrators stuffing enormous amounts of blood money into their coffers -- including their own pockets!

The following article from lifesitenews.com and written by Emily

Mangiaracina

"(LifeSiteNews) — Nurse testimonials reveal that hospitals not only used a deadly cocktail of protocols facilitating the death of patients during the COVID outbreak but punished whistleblowers, an author and researcher recently explained.

COVID policymakers “created one of the biggest terror campaigns in the history of mankind,” Ken McCarthy told Polly Tommey of Children’s Health Defense last month while sharing the most shocking findings of his tell-all interviews with nurses who worked the COVID pandemic.

McCarthy told how when he began to speak with nurses about their experiences, he realized that COVID-era hospital abuses he knew were taking place in New York City were in fact taking place nationwide due to “top down driven” protocols from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

These protocols, McCarthy said, were being “filtered through” chief financial officers (CFOs) of hospitals, because they were being “heavily” financially incentivized. And they were, according to all that he had learned from the nurses, dangerous and even deadly to those were designated COVID patients.

McCarthy went down the line naming several incentivized hospital COVID protocols that inflicted harm on these patients, beginning with the denial of anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen, as well as inhalable steroids.

“That’s the normal way you treat respiratory distress. You knock the inflammation down and you give people steroids. If you had a positive COVID diagnosis, they wouldn’t give you those basic treatments. This is like a fireman showing up at the fire and saying, let it burn a little bit more before we do anything,” McCarthy shared.

The next harmful practice hospitals used on “COVID” patients was to strap BiPAP masks on patients, a form of non-invasive ventilation that when administered improperly, caused many patients to have panic attacks.

“When you treat somebody with that, you have to warn them … It’s like if you were driving at 80 miles an hour and then one of your passengers stuck their head out the window. The wind is going down that fast. They didn’t prepare the patients, they didn’t comfort the patients. They would just slap this thing on and leave them alone,” explained McCarthy, adding that this “understandably” triggered panic attacks, at which point they were offered tranquilizers.

These tranquilizers relaxed their muscles, including their diaphragm, thereby weakening their breathing.

The drug was also dropped from a clinical trial for Ebola in 2018 after it was found that it had the highest death rate of the four drugs being tested, Dr. Bryan Ardis shared in a 2021 interview. In addition, according to attorney Thomas Renz, 25.9% of those prescribed Remdesivir for COVID-19 are recorded as having died in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) database. The death rate for COVID patients prescribed Remdesivir dwarfs the fatality rate of COVID patients prescribed Ivermectin, which is recorded by the CMS database as being 7.2%.

The deadly clincher to these protocols was the invasive intubation, that is, the use of ventilators, which were also financially incentivized.

McCarthy told Tommey that such intubation is for “when you’ve exhausted every other possibility” for a patient, because it is “a dangerous procedure.”

“The nickname for it among the hospital people is the garden hose. It’s large. Then you have to give somebody a feeding tube … You can cause abrasions, you can cause bleeding, infections.”

McCarthy learned that, moreover, intubated patients are typically given anywhere from five to 15 different drugs, including analgesics like fentanyl needed for the severe pain of invasive intubation, paralytic agents, and drugs “to just knock you out.”

He explained that normally a respiratory therapy is supposed to watch over four or five intubated patients, whereas during COVID, there was typically only one such therapist “for an entire ward of people.”

“Recipe for disaster. And indeed there was disaster,” McCarthy said.

“Now, here’s the really sinister thing. If you kept (a patient) on for 90 hours or longer, you got an extra bonus,” he continued.

“Every respiratory therapist will tell you as soon as you intubate somebody, within 24 hours you’re testing to see, hey, has this person recovered enough that we can take them off the intubation? Because every day you’re on intubation, you are closer to death. That’s just a fact.”

“So by what stretch of insanity did they incentivize hospitals to keep people on for 90 hours?” said McCarthy, adding, “I’d love to know who was in that room planning out these protocols.”

The author stressed that hospitals nowadays act as corporations, and not charitable institutions like they used to be — that is, they are “bottom line people.” So when they are given money bonuses for enacting certain protocols, they simply direct their entire staff to carry them out.

McCarthy said that in order to hide these deadly protocols, hospitals punished whistleblowers, according to nurse testimony.

A group that “was literally affiliated with the United Nations,” Team Halo, who McCarthy noted was devoted to counteracting “anti-vaxxers,” “metamorphized” during the COVID outbreak into a group that went after whistleblower nurses.

“They gave out nurses’ addresses and telephone numbers. They encouraged unhinged people to show up at their door and threaten them,” said McCarthy, telling how one whistleblower nurse who lives “in the boondocks of Nevada” had people “showing up at her door” after she was doxxed.

“They also had people filing complaints against the nurses with the nursing boards. Many of them had their nursing licenses challenged,” McCarthy added.

“And these were the thugs that went out and terrorized these nurses. So not only did the nurses get abused on the job — they were all fired. Anybody that spoke up and wouldn’t stop speaking up was fired. They were also tracked down afterwards and punished. They went through hell,” McCarthy said."'

(McCarthy’s book about his findings, “What the Nurses Saw,” is currently being sold on Amazon and has garnered an average of full five-star reviews.)

Down With Objective Truths; It's All About Feelings: "I Really Wanted To Share With Pope Francis About The Joy That I Have Being A Transgender ["]Catholic["]...

I'm afraid the evidence keeps piling up that ends any possible misinterpretation or error in translation of the demonic message being broadcast by apostate Rome, especially from the actions and inactions of Bergoglio, concerning the sins that led to the total destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.

To be fair, just because the pope meets with such despicable, lost souls flouting their diabolical cause, doesn't mean that Francis agrees with such bizarre nonsense.

On the other hand, why on earth doesn't he explain how their immortal souls are in dire jeopardy if they don't amend their lives and repent of their demonic "lifestyles"?

He has many, many ongoing opportunities to do so, but doesn't.

I guess you could say, where there is smoke there is fire!

"VATICAN CITY (LifeSiteNews) — Pope Francis met privately with a group of “transgender, intersex, and ally Catholics” today, in an event organized by dissident LGBT group New Ways Ministry, whose longstanding official censure by the Vatican remains in place though Francis has repeatedly signaled support for the organization.

In a late night press release Saturday (local time), New Ways Ministry (NWM) announced that they sponsored a group to meet with Francis at the Vatican today, in a discussion which lasted nearly 90 minutes.

They “urged” Francis “to move past the Church’s negative approach to gender-diverse people, and to encourage Church leaders to listen more attentively to the lives and faith of LGBTQ+ people.”

According to Reuters – whose Vatican correspondent has close links with NWM – Francis faced “calls to overturn the Catholic Church’s ban on gender-affirming care for transgender people,” namely, calls to overturn the Church’s prohibition of “sex-change” surgery.

Among the group of 11 people were five who shared their personal accounts with Francis – according to NWM – including:

  • Nicole Santamaria, an “intersex woman.”
  • Michael Sennett, a “transgender man” involved with church ministry “for many years.”
  • Deacon Raymond and Laurie Dever, parents of a “transgender” girl who attempted suicide after “transitioning.”
  • Dr. Cynthia Herrick, a doctor who performs sex-change surgery.

NWM describes itself as “a Catholic outreach that educates and advocates for equity, inclusion, and justice for LGBTQ+ persons, equipping leaders to build bridges of dialogue within the Church and civil society.”

A former description from 2021 was that NWM “educates and advocates for justice and equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) Catholics, and reconciliation within the larger church and civil communities.”

Church’s teaching ‘ill-informed’

NWM’s executive director Francis DeBernardo said of the meeting that “we hope Pope Francis’ example of listening to LGBTQ+ people will inspire other Catholic leaders to do the same.”

“By their own admission,” he continued, “the Catholic hierarchy has issued pronouncements about gender and sexuality without first consulting the people most directly connected to these topics. Pope Francis is showing the church a new way of developing its teaching.”

READ: Pope Francis’ favorite pro-LGBT nun says he is ‘laying the groundwork’ for changing teaching on homosexuality

The meeting, though sponsored by NWM, was arranged by Sister Jeannine Gramick – the dissident pro-LGBT nun, along with Robert Nugent, the co-founder of NWM.

Speaking after the encounter, Gramick praised Francis for his willingness to “listen to the experiences of intersex and transgender people.”

She attested that “it is only by listening to stories of these individuals, as well as the individuals who care for and about them, that the Church will be able to fully hear the voice of the Holy Spirit calling the Catholic community to break out of old, ill-informed teachings and practices.”

‘Joy’ from sex change

The meeting was requested by Gramick after the spring release of Dignitas Infinita, the Vatican document which cautiously condemned gender theory and “sex changes,” though was silent on the evil of homosexual activity.

READ: Cardinal Fernández’s Dignitas Infinita condemns abortion, gender theory but is silent on homosexuality

At the time, Gramick slated the document for its approach to transgender issues. She wrote complaining to Francis, who replied saying that “transgender people must be accepted and integrated into society.”

Francis told Gramick that the passage in Dignitas Infinita “refers not to transgender people but to gender ideology, which nullifies differences. Transgender people must be accepted and integrated into society.”

According to NWM, Francis “eagerly accepted” Gramick’s later proposal for the meeting held at the Vatican today “to hear directly from transgender and intersex Catholics and those who support them.”

The meeting “means that the Church is coming along, the Church is joining the modern era,” she attested afterwards.

Sennett, a woman who lives now as a man, told Reuters that “I really wanted to share with Pope Francis about the joy that I have being a transgender Catholic person.” According to Reuters, Sennett also told Francis about “the joy that I get from hormone replacement therapy and the surgeries that I’ve had that make me feel comfortable in my body.”

READ: Pope Francis tells heretical pro-LGBT nun: ‘Transgender people must be integrated into society’

Henrick, the doctor who performs sex-change surgeries, described Francis as “very receptive.”

“He listened very empathetically,” she added. “He also shared that he always wants to focus on the person, the well-being of the person.”

Gramick cements relationship with Francis: censure remains in place

During the 2023 Synod on Synodality meeting, she was received by the pope in the first private audience granted to her and her colleagues from NWM. The papal audience was described as highlighting a “new openness” to Gramick’s work.

However, despite this friendship, the nun remains officially under Vatican censure.

Gramick has a long history of dissenting from Catholic teaching on homosexuality and abortion, and was officially silenced by the Vatican in 1999, an order which she ignored and continues to ignore.

The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith wrote at the time:

The ambiguities and errors of the approach of Father Nugent and Sister Gramick have caused confusion among the Catholic people and have harmed the community of the Church. For these reasons, Sister Jeannine Gramick, SSND, and Father Robert Nugent, SDS, are permanently prohibited from any pastoral work involving homosexual persons and are ineligible, for an undetermined period, for any office in their respective religious institutes.

Then in 2010 the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) further declared that New Ways Ministry “has no approval or recognition from the Catholic Church” to speak on the LGBT issue.

But Gramick came under renewed media attention in December 2021 after it was revealed that Francis had written a letter praising NWM. The pope’s comments had come in a series of letters earlier in 2021, between Gramick and DeBernardo.

NWM published the pope’s letters when the Synod on Synodality team briefly removed a NWM video from the synod’s resource site. The Secretariat of the Synod subsequently apologized to the group after NWM published their correspondence with the pope, reinstated the video, and asked NWM to contribute more to the Synod on Synodality.

The Pope subsequently continued his correspondence with Gramick in the midst of the media controversy over the video, praising Gramick for her “50 years of closeness, of compassion and of tenderness.”

Earlier in 2023, Gramick even argued that Francis would usher in a change on the teaching regarding homosexuality. “While some will say the church can never change its teaching, including its sexual teaching, that idea is simply wrong,” she stated, citing a 2017 speech given by Francis to defend this position.

“Church teaching on sexuality will inevitably change,” she claimed, “but, as in the past, this change will not come quickly enough for some or without great angst for others.”
