US Bishops Have Been Funding Pro-Abortion, Marxist Groups With Parishioners’ Money For Decades!!

 Caught red-handed!

Here is the sub-heading of an article from lifesitenews.com and written by Michael Hichborn

The US bishops’ Catholic Campaign for Human Development has funneled millions of dollars to pro-abortion, pro-LGBT, and Marxist groups – and covered it up – for decades. Even now, the USCCB refuses to inform faithful Catholics of how its funds are being used.

"(The Lepanto Institute) — The Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD), the official “anti-poverty” program of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), formally states on the USCCB website that it “is committed to transparency and continues to publish a list of recent grantees online each year.” Despite this commitment, however, the CCHD has refused to publish its grants list for over two years.

The Lepanto Institute has tried for over a year to contact CCHD officials, requesting publication of all grants lists from 2022 to present, without any response, and this past weekend was the latest national collection for the CCHD. What this means is that – once again – the CCHD reneged on its claimed commitment to transparency and asked Catholics to blindly contribute without knowing where the money is going.

From all outward appearances, the CCHD does nothing but pay lip service to transparency and proper stewardship while deliberately hiding its list of grantees to avoid any scrutiny. Why? Because public criticism of CCHD grantees means fewer donations. Earlier this year, the CCHD’s long-time executive director, Ralph McCloud, suddenly and inexplicably resigned under a cloud of suspicion regarding financial mismanagement.

CCHD assets have fallen from a cash reserve of around $55 million to around $8 million by 2022, and it is believed that by April of this year, the coffers were just about empty. The annual collection has tumbled precipitously since 2016, when the Lepanto Institute began publishing annual reviews of CCHD grants. The collection in 2016 was nearly $20 million, and by 2020 the collection had sunk to about $4 million.

The Lepanto Institute has sustained constant public pressure on the CCHD for nearly 10 years, and through our efforts, we have helped Catholics all over the country see how CCHD funds are being used to promote abortion, contraception, LGBT ideologies, and Marxism. But we aren’t the first to expose the grave funding errors of the CCHD – stalwart and faithful Catholics have been sounding the alarm on CCHD for decades.

One of the earliest criticisms of CHD (as it was called before the word “Catholic” was added to it in 1998) that I could find was a 1982 op-ed published in the El Paso Times. Roman Varoz – a retired Army Lt. Col. and local Catholic parishioner – wrote a scathing rebuke of a CHD-funded organization called EPISO, which was an affiliate of notorious left-wing activist Saul Alinsky’s Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF). Noting that the CHD had given EPISO two grants of $50,000 each, Varoz wrote:

“EPISO is a creation of a few radical clergy and nuns who espouse a ‘new gospel,’ facetiously claim that they are as Marxist as Jesus Christ, and claim that they are committed to a free and open society based on the principles of American democracy. They distort the gospel with political overtones, adhere to the Marxist ideas and methods and deceits of Alinsky and make a mockery of American democratic principles by denying the faithful their most basic rights and taking their donations for illicit purposes when they are given in good faith.”

What Varoz wrote strikes what would become a constant theme when it comes to CCHD-funded organizations. Alinsky was indeed a Marxist who preached a constant revolution between the “haves” and the “have-nots,” applying the ideology of the ends justifying the means for the acquisition of power. That this was being preached by both priests and nuns is appalling, but with the eyes of history on the CCHD, not altogether surprising.

In 1984, an article titled “Bishops Blast Reagan” appeared in the Lake Shore Visitor. According to the article, two Texas bishops sent letters to President Ronald Reagan demanding he repudiate a document that was alleged to have been circulated by Thomas Paukin, a Reagan administration staffer. According to the article, the 16-page document in question stated that:

“funding from the Campaign for Human Development went to ‘organizations of the left-wing persuasion who seek fundamental, radical change in the American political economic system.’ … CHD-sponsored groups are ‘using our free enterprise system and our charitable impulse as a people to destroy our economic system.’”

Again, the grave concern regarding the radicalization of the poor for the sake of political power is at the very heart of the problem. A year later, Paulkin would publish a lengthy article in The Wanderer addressing CHD grants to ACORN and the IAF, asserting that both were Marxist in nature.

In November of 1989, the Richmond Times-Dispatch published an editorial critical of CHD titled, “Charity or Political Activism?” The article focused on a report by the Capital Research Center – a secular investigative think tank – recording several CHD grants going to pro-abortion organizations like the “National Health Care Campaign” and Marxist, pro-homosexual organizations like “The Youth Project.”

Four days later, the Dispatch published a letter by Bishop Walter Sullivan, then-bishop of the Diocese of Richmond, defending the CHD against the editorial. In Bp. Sullivan’s letter, he claimed that the charges leveled by the Capital Research Center had been discredited and are “without merit,” while simultaneously conceding that members of a CHD-funded coalition were indeed pro-abortion. This sort of aggressive dismissal of concerns regarding CHD grantees would continue to be a theme for the years to come.

In 1996, The Wanderer published a 90-page booklet titled, “The Legacy of CHD,” which documented hundreds of millions of dollars from the CHD going to radical Leftist organizations. That same year, the Baltimore Sun published an article indicating that the CHD provided funding to groups called “JEDI Women” and “9 to 5 Working Women,” as well as the “National Health Care Campaign,” all of which promoted abortion and contraception. Incredibly, the CHD responded with a memo claiming that it “has never and will never fund a project not in accord with Catholic moral teachings.”

In 1998, the USCCB added the word “Catholic” to the name of the CHD, making it the “Catholic” Campaign for Human Development. The criticism of the CHD had grown so prominent that the USCCB saw a need to rebrand.

Despite the decades of published concerns and criticisms of the CCHD and its grantees, nothing ever seemed to change. The collection would continue unabated, bishops would continue to solicit funds from unsuspecting parishioners, and only those who subscribed to conservative and Tradition-minded publications would even have a clue that there was anything wrong with giving to the CCHD. But in 2009, that all changed.

With the advent of the internet and social media, information was suddenly much easier to acquire and share. No longer reliant upon print media to carry a story, my colleagues and I were able to reach far more Catholics than ever before. And what’s more, we came up with a new style of reporting the issues.

Up until our first investigations in 2009, the USCCB was able to dismiss concerns as “political” and allegations as “unsubstantiated.” But our methodology turned all of that on its head. Basing our research on moral issues like abortion, contraception, and LGBT ideologies, we were able to acquire direct links to the evidence. And when the evidence would suddenly disappear after we reported it, we began supplying screenshots of our findings, proving beyond all doubt that what we alleged was substantiated.

With visual proof of our findings in hand, our detailed reports became shocking news in multiple Catholic news outlets. Catholic News Agency, National Catholic Register, EWTN, Our Sunday Visitor, Relevant Radio, and even the ultra-liberal America magazine, National Catholic Reporter, and U.S. Catholic carried our reports. Suddenly, there was no denying that the CCHD was indeed funding organizations pushing abortion, contraception, LGBT ideologies, and even Marxism.

Within a year of reporting, the CCHD was forced to undertake what it called a “Review and Renewal,” wherein the CCHD formally apologized “for the violations of CCHD policies by these groups and for the damage and confusion they have caused.” The Review and Renewal was to be a firming up of the CCHD’s standards and oversight, even adopting a new stipulation that CCHD will not provide funding to “groups which are part of coalitions which act in conflict with fundamental Catholic moral and social teaching.”

But this was all smoke and mirrors.

From 2010-2013, I was personally in regular communication with Ralph McCloud and met with him in-person several times to discuss our findings regarding CCHD grantees. Our concerns were always met with a promise to investigate what we discovered and provide answers, but neither promise was ever fulfilled. In fact, in 2012, we sent the details of our latest report on CCHD grantees to every bishop in the U.S., eliciting an internal memo from USCCB’s “Mission and Identity Outreach Manager,” Dylan Corbett, sent to all diocesan CCHD directors. The subject of the memo was “Recent allegations concerning CCHD funded groups.” The opening of the memo says:

“As a mark good stewardship, each year CCHD publishes a list of groups which have received a CCHD grant. In recent years, grantees have been subject to exceptional scrutiny by organized pressure groups operating in exploitative ways.”

What this indicates is that the CCHD sees its duty to publish the most recent list of grantees each year as a sign of “good stewardship.” And yet, the CCHD laments that there are organizations investigating its grantees, calling such organizations “pressure groups” engaging in “exploitation.” The purpose of sending this information to all bishops was to alert them to a problem the staff seemed to be hiding from them. Corbett called the report we sent “irresponsible criticism,” explaining that CCHD staff and diocesan directors are:

“investigating these claims responsibly, but prudence recommends considering them with reasonable skepticism based on a consistent track record of misreporting. As we work to adjudicate these claims, it has become evident that their near totality is based on false suppositions, tenuous connections and is repetitive of similar claims in the past.”

Note the tone of the memo. Our report is “irresponsible,” but CCHD investigations are “responsible.” Though we had produced these in-depth investigations for three years (forcing an apology from the CCHD and a commitment to improve their vetting process), Corbett called for “skepticism” due to our “consistent track record of misreporting.” And though he asserted that they were in the process of investigating our reports, he claimed that our conclusions are “based on false suppositions, tenuous connections and is repetitive of similar claims in the past.”

This is par for the course for the CCHD.

What is happening now is quite clear. The funds for the CCHD have nearly dried up, and the CCHD cannot continue if its collections fail to raise more funds. Our reports have awakened American Catholics to the horror of what is being done with CCHD funds, causing the collection baskets to come back empty. So, to avoid the scrutiny that would disrupt the collection, the USCCB feverishly rushed the national CCHD collection through this past weekend without informing faithful Catholics of how those funds have been used for the last two years, or how they are being used now.

This is a grossly dishonest practice at best! Imagine telling faithful Catholics that your operation is fully transparent, that you publish a list of grantees every year, and that critics of CCHD grants are all wrong – while refusing to publish the list of grantees you are asking faithful Catholics to subsidize.

Enough is enough! Call and email the grants specialist for your area (which you can find here) and your diocesan CCHD director/coordinator (which you can find here) and 1) ask why the CCHD grants list is two and a half years behind, and 2) demand that the CCHD grants list be published immediately. Remind them of the CCHD’s stated commitment to “transparency” and its promise to publish the most recent list every year. And when you receive a response, please let us know. If the CCHD can’t even uphold its promise to be transparent and publish its most up-to-date grants list, then what other promises is it breaking?"

Are you shocked at this revelation?

I'm not!

These wolves in sheep's clothing have nothing to do with the Catholic faith, but rather serve their real master, Satan, the father of lies and murder...

Yet, any true shepherd of souls, e.g., Archbishop Vigano, or Bishop Strickland, or Fr. Altman, get slammed, cancelled or even "ex-communicated" for serving Our Lord and holding fast to Apostolic Tradition -- rather than going along to get along and compromising with the zeitgeist.

What we are dealing with here is the heavy influence of modernism (and Marxism!) and the infiltration and seating of the anti-Christs who are now in near complete control of the new, novus ordo, synodal "church"...

Pray for their defeat -- and for their conversion to orthodoxy and the Catholic faith!

More World War III Watch Info Is Surfacing With Each Passing Day... Be Prepared!

This is not hyperbole, but a reality that just may happen within the coming days, weeks or months, that is, unless President Trump can diffuse this mess being pushed by the traitor and apostate still sitting in the Oval Office.

There are several articles showing the lunacy of our foreign policy that is threatening the survival of the entire world.  Do a simple search, take your pick, and see for yourself just how close we are to something that we really don't even want to give a second thought to: a nuclear war between the West -- that's the U.S. and NATO -- and Mother Russia...

I really don't think that the maniac leaders of these nations realize what they are going to experience if nation-states start hurling nuclear tip missiles at each other!

As Catholics, we must attempt to stay in a state of grace and continue to pray for peace, and that President Trump may be able to negotiate with some common sense to end the numerous wars and rumors of wars around the globe.

Also, pray for the conversion of President Putin and that he continues to restrain himself -- as well as some of the war hawks in his cabinet who would like nothing more than to take the West to the woodshed, permanently!

From The Economic Collapse and written by Is Joe Biden Trying To Start World War 3 Before He Leaves Office?

"As if everything that Joe Biden has done so far was not enough, now he has decided to push us to the brink of nuclear war.  On Sunday, Joe Biden decided to allow Ukraine to use long-range missiles provided by the United States to hit targets deep inside of Russia.  This is a bombshell.  I don’t know how else to put it.  The Russians have already warned us how they will respond if long-range missiles provided by the United States and other NATO countries start raining down on their cities.  Sadly, most Americans have no idea what a direct conflict with Russia would mean.

When I first heard what Joe Biden had done, I reacted very emotionally.

I am still feeling very emotional at this moment.

Everyone needs to clearly understand what just happened, because this is a major turning point

President Biden has given the OK to lift restrictions that will allow Ukraine to use U.S.-provided long-range weapons to strike deep into Russian territory, a U.S. official confirmed to CBS News on Sunday. The move is a significant change to U.S. policy in the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict.

The easing of restrictions would allow Kyiv to use the Army Tactical Missile System, or ATACMS, to hit targets inside Russia. The move also comes as some 10,000 North Korean troops were sent to Kursk near Ukraine’s northern border to help Russian forces retake territory.

One of the reasons why I am so upset is because this wasn’t his decision to make.

We just had an election and his side lost.

The American people elected a leader that wants to bring the war in Ukraine to an end, but now Joe Biden is trying to make sure that nobody is going to be able to end this war.

According to CBS News, one of the reasons why this decision was made was to “put Kyiv in a better negotiating position when and if peace talks happen”…

The U.S. decision could help Ukraine at a moment when Russian forces appear to be making gains and could put Kyiv in a better negotiating position when and if peace talks happen.

It also comes as Mr. Biden is about to leave office and President-elect Trump has pledged to limit American support for Ukraine and ending the war as soon as possible.

Are you kidding me?

That is nonsense.

Donald Trump needs to come forward immediately and denounce this move, because we could be facing a scenario where events spiral out of control before he even has the opportunity to take office.

When Vladimir Putin was asked about the possibility that long-range missiles provided by the U.S. could soon be used to hit targets deep inside Russia, he responded by warning that such a move would mean that “U.S. and European countries are at war with Russia”

“We are not talking about allowing or not allowing the Ukrainian regime to strike Russia with these weapons,” Putin said Thursday in comments to propagandist Pavel Zarubin. “We are talking about deciding whether NATO countries are directly involved in the military conflict or not.”

This will mean that NATO countries, the U.S. and European countries are at war with Russia,” Putin said. “And if this is so, then, bearing in mind the change in the very essence of this conflict, we will make appropriate decisions based on the threats that will be created for us.”

Joe Biden just called Putin’s bluff.

We just crossed that red line, and there is no going back.

Now we will see if Putin was bluffing or not.

Later in September, Vladimir Putin explained that a “joint attack on the Russian Federation” could trigger the use of nuclear weapons…

A new nuclear doctrine would “clearly set the conditions for Russia to transition to using nuclear weapons,” he warned – and said such scenarios included conventional missile strikes against Moscow.

He said that Russia would consider such a “possibility” of using nuclear weapons if it detected the start of a massive launch of missiles, aircraft and drones into its territory, which presented a “critical threat” to the country’s sovereignty.

He added: “It is proposed that aggression against Russia by any non-nuclear state, but with the participation or support of a nuclear state, be considered as their joint attack on the Russian Federation.”

The Russians have told us that allowing Ukraine to fire long-range missiles deep into their territory could cause a nuclear war.

But Joe Biden did it anyway.

Just imagine how we would feel if some foreign power was firing long-range missiles into Washington D.C. and New York City.

If someone did that to us, we would nuke them.

I want everyone out there to understand the gravity of the scenario that we are facing.

Of course the Russians have been escalating matters as well.

In fact, they just hit targets all over Ukraine using “120 missiles and almost 100 drones”

Ukraine said it would introduce nationwide emergency power restrictions Monday after a “massive” Russian attack further damaged its already fragile energy grid ahead of a much-feared winter, with nine civilians also killed across the country on Sunday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Moscow launched 120 missiles and almost 100 drones, targeting Kyiv as well as southern, central and far-western corners of the country.

Civilians were killed in the Mykolaiv, Lviv, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions in what officials in the capital called one of the biggest barrages in the almost three-year Russian invasion.

Meanwhile, the war in the Middle East threatens to spiral completely out of control.

On Sunday, Zero Hedge was reporting that Israeli troops were seen fighting at a location that is 3 miles north of the Lebanese border…

The Israeli military has reached the deepest point in Lebanon since the ground offensive began about six weeks ago. This has been reported by both Lebanese and Israeli media, amid raging battles with Hezbollah on Saturday.

“The state-run National News Agency reported that Israeli troops temporarily captured a strategic hill in the southern Lebanese village of Shamaa, about five kilometers (3 miles) from the border early Saturday, before later being pushed back,” Israeli media reports. “The outlet claimed soldiers detonated several buildings including a shrine before they withdrew.”

The IDF has also been bombing Syria on an almost daily basis, and we are waiting for the next Iranian attack on Israel which could literally occur at any moment.

Even though we could see these wars coming way in advance, nobody has been able to stop them.

Now Joe Biden has brought us to the brink of nuclear war with Russia even though he has very little time remaining in the White House.

It was not his decision to make, but he made it anyway, and it could end up having very serious implications for every man, woman and child on the entire planet."

Get Ready! Kremlin Warns ‘Inevitable Escalation’ Over Biden Allegedly Authorizing Ukraine Long-Range Missile Strikes!!!

 This is getting very scary.

Here is the headline from breitbart.com and written by Oliver JJ Lane...

Kremlin Warns 'Inevitable Escalation' Over Long Range Missile Strikes

"The United States allowing its long-range tactical missiles to strike targets deep inside Russia for the first time would “inevitably lead to a serious escalation”, Kremlin figures warn after Washington D.C. appears to brief one of President Biden’s final acts in office will be to permit such attacks.

Russia warned of dire consequences if Ukraine used long-range U.S.-made ATACMS missiles to strike strategic targets deep inside the Federation, but also confidence it would be able to foil the attacks in the first place. The responses came after claims were published in the beltway-interest newspapers favoured for leaks by the U.S. intelligence community at the weekend that U.S. President Joe Biden would permit Ukraine to use the American Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) missiles to strike targets within Russia.

Until now, the system was permitted for Kyiv to strike Russian targets inside Ukraine, but deeper strikes inside Russia had been prohibited over fears using American weapons to directly attack the Russian Federation would lead to Russia treating the U.S. as a direct combatant in the conflict. Ukraine sees hitting Russia inside Russia as essential as it would theoretically allow them to destroy Russian weapons before they have a chance to join battle.

Russian state media on Sunday night and Monday morning was quick to highlight the remarks of top Kremlin figures making dark warnings about the alleged change in police. Among them was head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky, a frequent interlocutor on Russian-Western relations, who said: “American missile strikes deep into Russian regions will inevitably lead to a serious escalation, which threatens to have much more serious consequences.”

A leader of one of Russia’s permitted opposition parties — a systemic, controlled opposition, Russian dissidents point out — Slutsky also played upon the apparent tension between the claimed move by the Biden White House in its final days and the desire to force peace by incoming President Donald Trump. He continued: “The Biden administration cannot help but understand that it leaves the Trump team with the problem of resolving not only the Ukrainian conflict, but also an even more acute one – preventing a global confrontation”.

Slutsky claimed if Biden presaged a broader conflict he would be known in Russia as “Bloody Joe” because, he claimed, the U.S. allowing Ukraine to bomb its attacker directly would mean “direct US participation in the military conflict in Ukraine. Which will inevitably entail the harshest response from Russia, based on the threats that will be created for our country”.

The Russian response had a typically paradoxical flavour in its assertions that while such an escalation would mean war with America, it also would not matter too much because their armed forces could allegedly easily defeat the new weapon. Typical of this tone was former commander in chief of Russia’s air force, now ‘First Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Defence and Security’ Viktor Bondarev, who claimed Russia had a sophisticated understanding of Ukrainian logistics.

The position is essentially mirroring Ukraine’s professed reason for wanting permission for long-range strikes in the first place, to destroy Russian weapon systems and aircraft on the ground before they have a chance to launch, portending more anti-air duels to come, yet ever-deeper in each other’s territory. Bondarev said on his view, per Kremlin state media: “For the Russian Armed Forces, the logistics of providing and servicing military supplies for the Ukrainian Armed Forces have long been known. Therefore, long-range weapons will become the same target as all other targets that we regularly practice.”

If that fails, the former top general said he believed his country’s armed forces would be able to shoot down ATACMS missiles as they flew to Russia. This, of course, may or may not be true and Ukraine certainly has a history of sneaking past even unsophisticated improvised air strikes deep inside Russia to date.

The most senior Kremlin spokesmen, however, simply referred in their remarks back to Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin’s own comments on what long-range strikes against their nation would mean. Spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova and Putin’s own spokesman Dmitry Peskov both cited the President’s September 12th remarks, when he had said such strikes would “change the very nature of the conflict” and would “mean that NATO countries, the U.S., European countries, are at war with Russia.”

Peskov had added further context to those words in September, when he said Putin had been “extremely clear, unambiguous and admits of no dual interpretations”, and had been “no doubt” heard by his intended audience, NATO capitals.

While Russia’s response to the claimed ATACMS order is stark, the degree to which Russian warnings are to be taken seriously has been blurred by nearly 1,000 days of conflict where ‘red lines’ have so often been set and then passed without serious consequence. Western nations are now several tranches of ever-more effective military equipment deliveries to Ukraine, including tanks, advanced missiles, and jet fighters, all of which came with their own ‘red line’ warnings of wider war from the Kremlin, and yet it hasn’t happened — yet.

Perhaps the most stark instance of lurid Kremlin rhetoric is that of Dmitry Medvedev, formerly the Prime Minister and President of Russia serving Vladimir Putin, who has repeatedly threatened to drop nuclear bombs on Western cities if Russia isn’t left alone to invade Ukraine as it pleases. As reported earlier this year:

Claiming “beautiful historical places” would be destroyed by Russia’s nuclear weapons, Medvedev suggested it would be better for the forces trying to roll back Russia’s war against Ukraine should stand down “before it’s too late”. Further discussing the consequences of Western-backed Ukraine taking back its legal territory, Medvedev spoke of how losing its newly conquered territory again could push Russia into civil war.

In comments possibly directed at a domestic audience to hammer home the importance of supporting the state’s war effort, Medvedev continued, per Russian state media: “the direct and irreversible collapse of present-day Russia… a violent civil war with the final disappearance of our country from the world map. Tens of millions of victims. The death of our future. The collapse of everything in the world.”
