Cookie Eating Monster "Cardinal" Dolan Of New York: Falsely Likens Ash Wednesday To ‘Catholic Ramadan’!! Lunacy!

Let me remind anyone reading my missive that it was "Cardinal" Dolan who wore the "rainbow sash" in the St. Patrick's Day parade in N.Y.C. some years back, showing his solidarity with the pervert LGBTQ crowd.  Also, this heterodox, modernist monster replied, "bravo," when asked about an NFL player coming "out of the closet"!

Sick!

Is the "cardinal" one of them!?

Now comes this:

Cardinal Dolan falsely likens Ash Wednesday to ‘Catholic Ramadan’

I have a question: if Bergoglio doesn't laicize this character, then why doesn't he laicize himself and sequester himself into some monastery for the rest of his life!  At least he'll not be able to cause further damage and scandal to whatever few Catholics are left in his shrinking archdiocese??

With "cardinals" like this, the church doesn't need any outside enemies!

Fri Feb 28, 2025 - 2:16 pm EST

"NEW YORK (LifeSiteNews) — The Catholic archbishop of New York has announced the beginning of Ramadan, likening it to Ash Wednesday.

Cardinal Timothy Dolan made the announcement to Catholic viewers over X (formerly Twitter) today on Friday, February 28, asking his audience if they realized that Ramadan, the Islamic “season of penance,” begins “tomorrow.”

The cardinal praised Muslims for taking their observances “seriously” and added that Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, is “kind of our Catholic Ramadan.”

Holding what appeared to be a pastry or biscuit, the cardinal told the viewers an anecdote about a Muslim cab driver who would not accept his offer of water because it was Ramadan and he “couldn’t take water until sunset.”

“That’s how seriously they take their fasting and prayer. Now, I tell you that to shame you because Ash Wednesday’s coming up, alright? Ash Wednesday is coming Wednesday, and that’s kind of our Catholic Ramadan, so let’s unite with our Islamic brothers and sisters in prayer and fasting.”

This is not the first time Cardinal Dolan has intertwined Christian and Islamic calendars while speaking on X. In March 2024, the archbishop of New York said, “Spring is the time of the triumph of light and life, OK, and that of course is what Good Friday and Easter Sunday is about. That’s what Passover is about. That’s what Ramadan is about.”

He added that they were about “the renewal of God’s life within us that we actually share in God’s constantly reinvigorating power in the world as we see in nature during spring. So Ramadan, Passover, Holy Week in Easter, it’s all sort of a supernatural springtime.”

According to Alban Butler in The Moveable Feasts, Fasts, and Other Annual Observances of the Catholic Church (1839):

The primitive Christians in Lent broke their fast only after sunset, and then usually only with herbs, roots, and bread. At least all were obliged to abstain not only from flesh meat, but also from fish, and whatever had life; also whatever is derived from flesh, as eggs, milk, cheese, butter, according to the ancient canon. Likewise from wine, which in the primitive ages was no less forbidden on all fasting days than the use of flesh meat itself … Some mitigations were introduced in part of abstinence in the sixth century … Fish was in the same age allowed, but not of the dearer and more dainty kinds.

By the 20th century, Catholics were certainly not expected to subsist solely on bread and vegetables during Lent; fish was permitted by the ninth century. However, before the Second Vatican Council, Catholics over age seven were forbidden by the “Law of Abstinence” to eat meat or meat broth during Lent, although eggs, cheese and butter were permitted – as they were not (and are not today) permitted in the Orthodox Church. Catholics between ages 21 and 60 were forbidden by the Law of Fasting from eating one full meal a day although they could have a small amount of food in the morning and the evening.

After the Second Vatican Council, Pope Paul VI greatly diminished the expectations of Catholics regarding Lenten penances. In his 1966 Apostolic Constitution Paenitemini, Pope Paul VI reduced the fasting days of Lent to Ash Wednesday and Good Friday while preserving the penitential character of “all Fridays.” However, Paul VI also gave provisions for bishops to substitute “abstinence and fast wholly or in part with other forms of penitence and especially works of charity and the exercises of piety.”

These provisions led to the abandonment of the Friday fast and, in many places, Friday abstinence from meat, leaving Ash Wednesday and Good Friday as the sole obligatory fasting days of the Catholic year. To fulfill the obligation, one must abstain from meat and eat only one large meal and two smaller meals that, if combined, would not create a full meal. This is binding on Catholics ages 18 to 59. In the U.S., Catholics age 14 and up are asked not to eat meat on Fridays in Lent, whereas in Canada, Catholics may substitute “special acts of piety or charity” instead of abstention from meat.

Meanwhile, Catholics chimed in on Cardinal Dolan’s X account, some wondering why, if the Cardinal wished to encourage Christian fasting practices, he did not mention the Byzantine Catholics or Orthodox churches, groups that do honor traditional penitential practices.

“It’s the ‘I’m shaming you’ part that really bugs me,” wrote Lisa Marie-Christ is King. “The bishops relaxed all the fasting rules for Lent & now we’re supposed to be ashamed? Plus he can point to our Byzantine Catholic brothers & sisters to emulate for rigorous fasting. They rarely get any acknowledgment.”

Moreover, as the Islamic scholar Robert Spencer explained, Ramadan is a season in which Islamic attacks against non-Muslims, including Catholics, increase every year.

“If the Ramadan imperative is to become more devout, the Muslim who applies himself diligently to the Ramadan observance will simultaneously become more both merciful to his fellow Muslims and more severe against the unbelievers,” he wrote.

“Murdering infidels thus doesn’t contradict the spirit of Ramadan; it embodies it,” he added."'

The Coming Trumpian Pope??

 A Trumpian Pope??

Wow!

What would that look like??

This article: The Coming Trumpian Pope - Crisis Magazine and written by , gives a glimpse of what such a pope would look like and do for the restoration of sanity -- in the new, novus ordo, synodal "church."  (That's the church that the world sees, for the most part, but what they don't see is the orthodox, faithful traditional church that is loyal to Christ and His teachings and is growing by leaps and bounds!)

"A meme is making the rounds: a bull in a china shop has destroyed every plate, saucer, and cup. We are asked, “Is this what you voted for?” As a matter of fact, it is.

It is also what I voted for in 2016. The problem in 2016 was that politicized Democrat Deep Staters in the FBI, DOJ, military, CIA, federal judiciary, and Congress were in that china shop and illegally prevented the bull from doing his work. And they were cheered on by a thoroughly corrupted gutter press.

This time around, however, the bull has neutered and/or taken over all those agencies, including the media, and hired a lot of lesser bulls, but bulls who know precisely what to do. These bulls have a plan, and they are moving fast and breaking things, and, in the words of Pope Francis, making a mess.

And as we pray for the Holy Father in his final agony, we wonder who the next pope will be and pray he will be a Trumpian pope, a bull in the china shop who will “make a mess.”

What would this coming Trumpian pope do?

Fire a lot of people, for starters. And don’t do it with a scalpel. Deep Staters everywhere know how to blunt the scalpel. No, the Trumpian pope must use the chain saw. Fire 50 percent of the people who work in the Vatican. Fire every head of every dicastery in Rome. Close half of them down. Do that in the first few weeks after the conclave. Fire a lot of people, for starters. And don’t do it with a scalpel. Deep Staters everywhere know how to blunt the scalpel. No, the Trumpian pope must use the chain saw.Tweet This

Recreate the Pontifical Council for the Family the way it was created. Recreate the Pontifical Academy for Life in the way it was intended.

The rise of Francis and “who am I to judge” gave courage to heterodox professors, especially on the gay thing at pontifical universities. They giddily identified themselves. We know who they are. Fire them all within days of the conclave.

This will get a lot of attention. Ignore the shrieks from the usual suspects around the world. Proceed with your work with all due dispatch.

There’s more, much more.

Synodality? It’s over. Thanks for your work.

Any bishops must be chosen from those ordained to the priesthood in the last 10-15 years.

Abrogate the motu proprio that gutted personal prelatures, restoring the harmony and existence of personal prelatures as they existed when Francis became pope. Make the prelate of Opus Dei a bishop again.

Immediately rehire the very talented holy men the pope fired, including and especially Cardinal Müller, Cardinal Burke, and Cardinal Sarah. Give Burke back his stipend and Roman apartment. Give them all their old jobs immediately.

Take the boot off the neck of the Knights of Malta and Communion and Liberation.

Immediately begin an investigation—inquisition?—into the homosexuals in the Vatican. Fire them. Laicize them.

Turn your attention to the wider Church.

Reestablish the Traditional Latin Mass everywhere. Everywhere. No priest needs permission. It is open to all priests and all dioceses.

Immediately cancel Amoris Laetitia. Immediately cancel same-sex blessings. Immediately take “inadmissible” out of the catechism on the question of the death penalty. What did that mean anyway? Excommunicate a number of politicians who support abortion.

While you are at it, cut the USCCB in half. Make it clear that the committees of the USCCB do not speak for the Church. The USCCB is not in the hierarchy. Let the bishops speak to us once or twice a year when they meet as a body.

Expand the number of dioceses in the United States. We need 400 of them or more. How can a bishop be a shepherd to 500,000+ souls? For instance, four hundred would still be far fewer bishops per Catholic than in Italy.

Close any office or program called “Justice and Peace.” Justice is good. Peace is good. But together, not so much.

Institute an annual collection for pro-life. Make it two.

Close some seminaries in the United States. Any whiff of the gay thing, or other heterodoxies, close them down. Send some of our seminarians to Africa. Bring 1,000 African priests to the United States.

Fire every bishop who ignored credible reports of priest sex abuse. We all know of at least one who would qualify.

I am out of breath just writing this. I wake up every morning in Trump’s America, and it’s Christmas every day. He fired the head of the Kennedy Center. Whoa! Who even thought of that? He appointed Dan Bongino as number two at the FBI. I don’t even like Dan Bongino, but it’s fantastic.

What Trump understood was that there was a permanent bureaucracy lying in the deep weeds, waiting to stop any and all reforms. The only way to beat them is to move fast, flood the zone, make everything so fast and furious that they cannot catch their breath, cannot really mount a response. Make a mess.

Who would be able to do such things? Who would be a Trumpian pope? I am not a prognosticator. Others are. We have a small pool of cardinals who would be considered. Maybe the conclave needs to go beyond the College of Cardinals. I don’t know, but whoever thought Trump would be president? Hardly anyone. Pick a bishop hardly anyone knows. Pick Msgr. Shea from University of Mary in North Dakota. Don’t know him? Look him up.

I remember when the last conclave met. I was at a Holy See meeting at the U.N. when the white smoke rose. As we sat around a conference table, our phones started to buzz. I caught the eye of the Nuncio. We exchanged meaningful glances. Later, in the U.N. cafeteria, all the lefties were in a tizzy about who this Bergoglio might be. Early reports were that he was solid on gay and marriage.

None of us were prepared for what happened. We spent years explaining the pope. “Well, he may have said something like that, but what he meant was….” Some of us gave up after a few years. I tried to adopt the role of a 13th-century peasant: There is a pope somewhere far off. I love and pray for him, but I don’t know what he does or says. I have my priest and my bishop.

Many of us are still confused about certain things that happened under the reign of Francis. Do we really have to give religious assent to the scientific claim of “climate change?” How is it possible that something that was a sin on Monday—taking Communion in a sinful relationship—becomes perfectly fine on Tuesday? How is it possible that something perfectly fine on Monday—the death penalty—becomes a sin on Tuesday? None of this really affects me, but it is confusing.

Pray for two things: That our beloved Pope Francis experiences a holy and happy death and is welcomed into the Beatific Vision. And pray for the coming of a Trumpian pope."

End of article, but not of hope that this may actually happen in the coming days!

Is This Stalin's Soviet Russian Gulag -- In Scotland? ‘Vance Was Right’ — Praying At Home Could Be A Crime ‘Depending On Who Passes Window’, Says Scottish MP

"The author of Scotland’s draconian protest restrictions around abortion clinics has admitted that people who live within the anti-free speech zone could be committing an offence if they pray in their own homes “depending on who passes by the window”'.

(My emphasis.)

Let that sink in...

Scotland is going the way of Ireland, it seems...

From breitbart.com and written by Kurt Zindulka comes this lunacy!

Home Prayer Could Be Crime 'Depending on Who Passes Window': MP

"The author of Scotland’s draconian protest restrictions around abortion clinics has admitted that people who live within the anti-free speech zone could be committing an offence if they pray in their own homes “depending on who passes by the window”.

British legacy media and establishment politicians were quick to accuse U.S. Vice President JD Vance of spreading “misinformation” after he asserted at the Munich Security Conference earlier this month that people could be arrested for praying in their homes if they live within the 200-metre (656ft) protest prohibition zones surrounding abortion clinics in Scotland.

However, in an interview with BBC Scotland’s Scotcast podcast, the legislation’s author, Gillian Mackay, appeared to confirm Vance’s warnings.

Despite having initially branded the vice president’s comments as “nonsense” and “shocking and shameless misinformation”, the leftist lawmaker admitted that prayer within a home could fall afoul of the law.

Asked whether someone was seen visibly praying at their window within the exclusion zone was committing an offence, the Member of the Scottish Parliament said: “That then depends on who’s passing the window.”

Yet she still attempted to maintain that Vance was wrong, saying: “I don’t know anyone who can pray loudly or performatively enough to be seen outside their own house… What JD Vance did was take it to the extreme. He clearly has an anti-abortion agenda and wants to spread that level of misinformation.”

Just days after Vance’s speech in Munich, in which he warned of increasing authoritarianism and threats to free speech from within Europe and the UK, a 74-year-old woman was arrested after holding a silent vigil outside of an abortion clinic in Scotland while carrying a sign reading: “Coercion is a crime. I’m here to talk, only if you want.”

The woman became the first to be arrested under the Abortion Services (Safe Access Zones) Act, which was passed into law in 2023 but only came into effect last year. Given its recent enactment, it remains to be seen how police would treat someone living in the no-protest zone who was reported for praying at their window.

Last September, the leftist government in Edinburg sent letters to Scottish residents warning them that “activities in a private place (such as a house) within the area between the protected premises and the boundary of a Zone could be an offence if they can be seen or heard within the Zone and done intentionally or recklessly.”

The government went on to call on people to report their fellow citizens to the police if they believed them to be in violation of the law.

Responding to the apparent admission from Mackay that prayer inside a house could be considered criminal, Lois McLatchie Miller, Scottish spokesperson for Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) International, said: “JD Vance was right to raise concerns – this law is an illiberal travesty.”

“Gillian Mackay confirmed that ‘performative’ prayer could be a crime, ‘depending on who is passing by the window’. The accusation of prayer being ‘performative’ rather than genuine lies in the eye of the beholder. Who are the police to doubt the genuineness of somebody’s faith, based on where they are located, and the position of their hands?”

“Clearly, the ‘buffer zones’ law is fundamentally flawed when it comes to undermining basic freedoms of speech, thought, and religion.”

The "Religion Of Peace" Strikes Again!!! 70 Christians Were Beheaded In The Democratic Republic Of Congo

Remember the traitor, George W. Bush proclaiming that Islam "is a religion of peace"?

Well, that "religion of peace" has struck again, killing, in a most brutal fashion -- beheading! -- 70 Christians in the Democratic Republic of the Congo!

These Jihadists are the soldiers in Satan's army committing heinous crimes year after year, yet the Marxist, mainstream media is silent -- because the victims are Christian. But!  If those victims were, let's say, Antifa or of the "Black Lives Matter" ilk, then the press would be screaming day and night, inciting violence against those law enforcement personnel attempting to maintain some measure of law and order in the streets...

Please listen to the following short -- one minute in length! -- and hear the horrendous, ongoing news that occurs in the "Democratic" Republic of the Congo almost on a daily basis!

From the gatewaypundit.com (70 Christians were beheaded in the Democratic Republic of Congo - Gateway Hispanic)

"70 Christians were led in the Democratic Republic of Congo amidst the silence of the mass media who proclaim 'black lived matter' but give no importance to black lives when they are Christians."

Please pray for those murdered men, women and children at the hands of members of "the religion of peace"...

Disgusting! Scottish "Catholic" Bishop Kicks Out Traditional Order Of Friars And Nuns From His Diocese! Why? To Seize Their Property And Sell It For Filthy Lucre?

Here is one more example of the hate of the modernists for Tradition -- the true Catholic Faith and the Mass of the ages!

This very disturbing and revealing article from lifesitenews.com and written by Dorothy Cummings McLeanCatholics 'heartbroken' after Scottish bishop asks thriving traditional order to leave diocese - LifeSite, is a must read!

Updated

"DUNDEE, Scotland (LifeSiteNews) — A thriving religious community has been asked to leave Dundee by the new Bishop of Dunkeld

A group of Marian Franciscans, both friars and nuns, were invited to live in the old Lawside Convent and Diocesan Centre in Dundee by Bishop Stephen Robson in 2022. Now his successor, Bishop Andrew McKenzie, wants them to go.

The Marian Franciscans themselves broke the news on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday evening:

Ave Maria! Dear Friends, not a happy news to share. We have been told to leave the Diocese of Dunkeld. Very soon 50 people (counting friars and sisters resident) will be homeless. To find another accommodation for both communities is not easy. Please pray for us and help us.

It is not known publicly why Bishop McKenzie wants the double order (known also as the Sisters of the Immaculate and St. Maximilian Kolbe and the Friars of the Immaculate and St. Francis) to vacate the large property and leave the Diocese of Dunkeld. It is also uncertain on what canonical grounds the bishop has the authority to order the community to leave Dundee.

In the official message the bishop asked the friars to send to the families who attend their Traditional Latin Masses, McKenzie stated:

After careful consideration with appropriate experts, along with the Council of Priests of the Diocese of Dunkeld, it has been mutually agreed that the Marian Franciscan Sisters and Friars will return to the Diocese of Portsmouth, in which they were constituted and to which they belong.

The Diocese of Dunkeld will endeavour to provide the celebration of Mass in the extraordinary form for those who wish to celebrate the Eucharist according to this rite.

However, a source close to the Marian Franciscans told LifeSiteNews that the communities had had no intention of leaving and had hoped to buy the buildings. Over the past year, the friars had built with the help of congregants a new shrine to Our Lady of Lourdes, and a life-sized statue had arrived the day before Bishop McKenzie made his announcement.

Meanwhile, the Marian Franciscans’ communities have grown since they came to Dundee. In 2022, when Bishop Robson warmly welcomed them to the east coast of Scotland, their group was comprised of 7 friars and 20 nuns; now there are 20 friars and 30 nuns.

The Trustees for the Marian Franciscan Sisters have sent LifeSite a statement regarding Bishop McKenzie’s decision, saying that they are “seeking clarification from the bishop on various points”:

Following the statement of Bishop McKenzie of Dunkeld, read out at Masses on Sunday 23 February 2025, to the effect that the Marian Franciscan Sisters and Friars will leave the Diocese of Dunkeld, we, the Sisters’ trustees, are seeking clarification from the bishop on various points. No doubt the trustees of the Friars will seek to do similar.

We will endeavour to ascertain the Bishop’s wishes and consider them fully, maintaining as good relations with the Bishop and Diocese, as best we can.

For the present the celebration of the traditional Latin mass in the Sisters’ convent chapel will continue as normal until further notice.

We will endeavour to keep the local Latin Mass community and the wider circle of supporters of the Sisters as fully informed as we reasonably can. Please continue to pray for both communities as well as for the Bishop and the Diocese.

The trustees of the Marian Franciscan Sisters

Catholics who attend the Traditional Latin Mass in Dundee have two worries: where their Marian Franciscans will find another property with two separate residences, one for monks and one for nuns, and if their bishop will indeed provide them with a new chaplain. Their concerns are shared by other Catholics in Scotland and the wider United Kingdom.

READ: New memoir ‘Two Families’ presents Catholic social history of England in an engaging way

Sarah Ward, an English lay member of the Marian Franciscan family, told LifeSiteNews via social media that she was “shocked and saddened to hear the news.”

“I feel particularly sorry for all the families in Dundee who have become part of the thriving community and, of course, many of the families have a strong attachment to the Traditional Latin Mass, which the Friars were able to provide,” Ward added. “A large Catholic homeschooling community was growing there with the help of the Sisters, and I know that many are heartbroken.”

Ward contrasted the Franciscan communities’ spirituality of meek obedience with the difficult situation that faces them. She believes that they will “wish to imitate Mary in her docility, obedience and trust.”

She asked that LifeSiteNews readers support them with their prayers and donations.

The Marian Franciscans cannot hold money, so the Friends of the Marian Franciscans charity, whose fundraising page is here, takes care of their finances.

“One of the worst parts of this news is that any accommodation must have two totally separate buildings,” wrote AdamCC92 on X. “That’s why Lawside worked so well – you had the old convent of the Sisters of Mercy and then the old Diocesan offices [sic]. How many places like that exist?”

He added, “Something else to note, too: I know of no consultation with the large lay community whom the MFs serve, and whom around a proper community has been built. Where is the synodality which is meant to be important?”

In 2022, Bishop Stephen Robson, who is known to be sympathetic to Catholics who love the Traditional Latin Mass, told the story of the Franciscan Family of the Immaculate’s previous struggle to find a home.

Contributing part of a November 18, 2022, press statement for the Diocese of Dunkeld, Bishop Robson wrote that they were “technically attached” to the Diocese of Portsmouth but had outgrown their residence:

The Convent buildings they used to occupy were both too small and their lease had ended, and the building was placed up for sale. For the past year the Community has looked the length and breadth of the country looking for a suitable home. And then they discovered Lawside, St Joseph’s. It was just what they wanted, and they fell in love with it. It was a building designed and built precisely for the religious life. And it was a perfect size. They were able to have a full convent life in St Joseph’s and make the pastoral centre a Franciscan Friary.

Bishop Robson mentioned the benefits of having the young religious in the diocese, including the extra priests to help out in the parishes. For example, Marian Franciscan priests can celebrate both the Traditional Latin Mass and the Mass of Paul VI. He also asked that they be welcomed with “love and tolerance.”

The Franciscans will also be able to look after the Latin Mass community from now on, so keeping them all together for Mass at Lawside. And supply work by the friars, if they are asked, will be possible in our parishes. They will also concelebrate with us at the Chrism Mass with the rest of our priests.

Let us offer them a welcoming hand; love and tolerance; and a realisation that our wonderful Catholic Church is so much bigger, wider, and more inclusive than we sometimes even realise, allow for, or are even aware of. It will be good to have young religious about the place.

Bishop Robson retired in December 2022 on the grounds of ill health. He was succeeded by Fr. Martin Chambers, who was appointed to the post in February 2024 but died two weeks before his scheduled ordination. Bishop Andrew MacKenzie was a priest in the Diocese of Glasgow when he was appointed Bishop of Dunkeld in May 2024.

LifeSiteNews has reached out to Bishop McKenzie but has not yet received a response."

End of article...

These Friars and Nuns will soon be homeless!  Pray that they find suitable living arrangements and that they continue to thrive in their service to the faithful!!
