Fr. Joachim Heimerl: ["]Cardinal["] Fernández Wants To ‘Cancel’ Marian Apparitions And The Supernatural!!!

In case you haven't heard, within the last week or so, a new attack on Marian apparitions and the supernatural in general, was released by apostate Rome through the heretical hands of "cardinal" Fernandez.

Also, in case you haven't heard, Fernandez is in now in charge -- believe it or not! -- of the “Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith”!

Appointed by who?  The Bishop of Rome, Bergoglio, also known as pope Francis.  Need I say more...

There have been many in the Catholic blogosphere that have commented on this nonsensical, modernist attack on our Lady and her messages of prayer, penance, amending one's life, with the ultimate goal of leading all to her Divine Son...

Some of those making comments on the internet have been Catholic priests...

Now, Fr. Joachim Heimerl will lay out the real reason for this newest diabolical attempt to downplay our Lady's role in salvation history.

The following article is from lifesitenews.com and written by Fr. Joachim Heimerl: Catholic priest: Cardinal Fernández wants to ‘cancel’ Marian apparitions and the supernatural - LifeSite (lifesitenews.com)

‘Cardinal Fernández pretends to be faithful in order to undermine the faith,’ most recently by denying the ‘supernatural character’ of Marian apparitions that contradict Pope Francis’ ‘synodal’ agenda, Father Joachim Heimerl writes.

(LifeSiteNews) — The “Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith” published a new document shortly before Pentecost. It is the latest during the tenure of the controversial Cardinal Prefect Víctor Manuel Fernández and is likely to cause as much uproar among Catholics around the world as the previous ones. Let me say it in advance: Gradually, it would be time to rename the dicastery: “Dicastery for Faithlessness” would still be a harmless term.

But one thing at a time: The new document doesn’t sound very exciting: “Norms for the proceeding in the discernment of alleged supernatural phenomena.” What lies behind the bulky title, however, is toxic: put simply, it is about Marian apparitions and how they can be neutralized or canceled.

READ: Vatican issues new norms on alleged visions, refusing to rule on supernatural origin of events

This is not without controversy, as countless Catholics are significantly inspired by such apparitions in their faith life; the new document – and even more so its application – is therefore unlikely to be met with broad approval by the faithful. And all the less so when one sees through the statements behind it.

The procedure is always the same: Cardinal Fernández pretends to be faithful in order to undermine the faith. This could be observed in the heretical “blessing” document “Fiducia supplicans” as well as – somewhat more subtly – in “Dignitas infinita,” which was about “human dignity.”

Now it is the turn of the Marian apparitions, and Fernández emphasizes that they are always “private revelations” that are not part of the deposit of faith. That is correct and nothing new, but that is not the point.

READ: Catholic priest: Dignitas Infinita a ‘faithless’ document with little to say about salvation

Rather, it is about something that is not said at all: It is about the fact that such phenomena simply take place and, above all, that they are quite disruptive. It doesn’t matter whether they are historical and ecclesiastically recognized apparitions, such as in Lourdes (1858) and Fatima (1917), or current ones, such as those reported in Medjugorje (since 1981).

But who is actually bothered by these apparitions?

Certainly not the millions and millions of pilgrims who experience grace, conversion, and healing through them. But they do disturb all those who no longer believe in God, especially those who hold high ecclesiastical offices, i.e., Fernández and Co.

Those who want to establish a “synodal,” man-made church and falsify the faith according to their own ideas have no use for Marian apparitions. After all, they point like an exclamation mark to God as the Lord of the Church and remind us that we are only obliged to HIM and HIS final revelation. However, this is often the opposite of what Cardinal Fernández teaches on behalf of the pope.

Long story short: Marian apparitions are not to be used for the propaganda of the synodal “church reformers,” and therefore, they are to be decisively relativized. For this reason, the new “norms” will, in the future, at best, attest to the harmlessness of such phenomena but no longer, as before, to their supernatural character. In other words, the Church will at most put a question mark behind everything supernatural and leave it at that.

Of course, already recognized apparitions are also indirectly affected by this regulation because the signal of the “norms” is clear: there are no reliable statements about the supernatural. This view is egregious and also heretical since it indirectly denies God Himself or at least His power to intervene in our present time.

In this respect, the new document goes far beyond Marian apparitions. It sheds significant light on the current imbalance in the Church, in which supernatural faith no longer plays any role at all.

The documents Fiducia supplicans and Dignitas infinita have already shown that this is the case. Even the “World Synod” does not serve to defend or deepen the deposit of faith but to adapt it to the spirit of the age. For this to work, a trick is used that is known in synodal parlance as “conversation in the Holy Spirit”: It’s about listening to the “Holy Spirit” and the supposedly “new” things He tells the Church.

Isn’t that amazing? Because even if the Holy Spirit really did speak to the Synod, it would be one of those “supernatural phenomena” that the new “norms” deny.

And: the result of this would be something that does not exist according to the teaching of the Church, namely a new revelation of God that no longer agrees with the previous one.

Let me therefore put it as simply as it is: supposedly “supernatural phenomena” are now only accepted if they correspond to the pope’s destructive church-political program. Everything else, including the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary, will in the future be considered “unobjectionable” at most and therefore meaningless.

However, there is a catch: even if apparitions are “private revelations,” it has always pleased God to speak to His people and guide them, because only God is the sovereign Lord of the Church and not Francis or even Fernández.

The most famous example is probably the miracle of the sun in Fatima, which was witnessed by hundreds of thousands of people on October 13, 1917. This miracle was so overwhelming and so obviously supernatural that ecclesiastical recognition of the apparitions remained a formality after the fact.

Even today, we can be certain: The Blessed Virgin, who crushed the unbelief of the Portuguese communists back then, will also destroy the new unbelief in the Church; perhaps Francis and Fernández will live to see this in office. After all, in Medjugorje, 10 secrets are announced for the near future, which are to be proclaimed to the world three days before they occur. And also in Garabandal (1961-65), the Blessed Virgin once predicted a warning, followed by a miracle and finally the judgment.

Incidentally, all of this is supposed to occur after an event that was unknown in Church parlance at the time, namely after an important “synod!”

The half-life of the new “norms” could, therefore, perhaps be very short; that of the faithless “synodal church” and the “world synod” possibly also. We shall see!"

End of article...

(One note of caution on the so-called apparitions of Medjugorje and Garabandal; both have been steeped in "controversy," and, I believe, Medjugorje has not been approved by the bishop of that see.)

What I do believe is that Fr. Joachim Heimerl will be attacked, cancelled and or thrown under the bus, so to speak, for preaching the truth about the faithlessness of the (novus ordo) hierarchy who hate Tradition.  We shall see!

Pray for the defeat of these modernist monsters -- and for their conversion!

Pray too, for strength and honor!

Brutal! "It Is A Fearful Thing To Send A Man's Soul To Perdition"...

"It is a fearful thing to send a man's soul to perdition"!

That line is from one of my favorite movies from 1935: "Captain Blood," staring a young (26-year-old) Errol Flynn and (19-year-old!) Olivia deHavilland.

As a bit of trivia, Olivia deHavilland lived to the ripe old age of, get this -- 104!!

Errol Flynn on the other hand, died at the relatively young age of 50 years...

That line: "It is a fearful thing to send a man's soul to perdition," was said by one of the king's judges passing sentence on the "rebel" "traitors" who opposed the tyrant king and fought for their human rights...

The very idea of sending someone to perdition is such a brutal thing to even contemplate.  But we also know that only our Lord passes final judgement on a soul at their Particular Judgement, but those in authority on this earth -- who have the grave responsibility to guide souls to the heavenly beatitude, but fail in that responsibility, will be judged more harshly than the Prodigal Son who separates himself from sanctifying grace, whether out of vincible ignorance, weakness or malice.

This brings me to a diabolical and sad story that indicates the length and breadth that the modernist, apostates will go to, to implement a heinous, un-natural agenda regardless of the cost to an immortal soul.

Diocese of Lexington doubles down on referring to female 'hermit' as 'he,' 'Brother' - LifeSite (lifesitenews.com)

I'll post the entire article here: "(LifeSiteNews) — In a statement released Tuesday, the Diocese of Lexington, headed by heterodox Bishop John Stowe, doubled down on referring to the woman who calls herself a man and lives as a “diocesan hermit” as a man named “Brother Christian Matson.”

“On Pentecost Sunday, Brother Christian Matson, a professed hermit in the Diocese of Lexington, has made it public that he (sic) is a transgender person. Brother Christian has long sought to consecrate his life to Christ in the Church by living the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity and obedience,” the diocese wrote.

“He has consistently been accompanied by a competent spiritual director and has undergone formation in the Benedictine tradition. He does not seek ordination but has professed a rule of life that allows him to support himself financially by continuing his work in the arts and to live a life of contemplation in a private hermitage,” the diocese continued.

“Bishop John Stowe, OFM Conv., accepted his profession and is grateful to Brother Christian for his witness of discipleship, integrity and contemplative prayer for the Church,” it added.

The doubling down comes after “Brother” Christian Cole Matson, born Nicole Matson, told Religion News Service (RNS) on Friday, “This Sunday, Pentecost 2024, I’m planning to come out publicly as transgender,” adding that she has the permission of Bishop Stowe to publicly share this information.

The news that Matson is in fact a woman came as a surprise to many of her acquaintances, since her voice and appearance are that of a man, and she has not often disclosed the fact that she is a biological female. In 2015, EWTN interviewed Matson, who has developed strong ties to Catholic actors and artists, about her conversion to Catholicism, apparently without knowing the truth behind “Cole’s” masculine appearance.

Matson, 39, who was raised Presbyterian, explained to RNS that she “converted” to Catholicism four years after her “sex change” in college, which she referred to as part of her “medical history” rather than a “central part” of her “personal identity.” After her “conversion,” she “felt called to minister to those involved in the arts,” according to RNS, but anticipated obstacles to this aspiration because of the 2000 Vatican document that declared that anyone who has had a “sex change” is ineligible “to marry, be ordained to the priesthood or enter religious life.”

It should be noted that Matson continues to embrace her “trans” identity even after her “conversion.” She argues that the Catholic Church “can embrace transgender people while maintaining orthodoxy,” and that “Vatican-level documents that have come out on the subject have not engaged with the science at all,” according to RNS.

As reported by LifeSiteNews, Mother Therese Ivers, a canon lawyer, confirmed that it is canonically impossible for a “transsexual” person to live as a religious or in any ecclesial state.

UPDATE On The "D.C. Nine" Pro-Lifer's Being Sentenced To Prison For Trying To Protect Pre-Born Babies...

On May 16th, I wrote: Wake Up!!! Amerika Is Worse Than The Old Soviet Union Under The Murderer Stalin!! Read And Heed This Article!!

Today, May 21st, I have an update on the "D.C. Nine" and their trials and tribulations at the hands of a radical pro-death "judge" and the so-called jurors who participated in the kangaroo show trial in D.C...

From lifesitenews.com and written by Louis KnuffkePersecution of pro-life Americans continues with this week's sentences in DC FACE Act case - LifeSite (lifesitenews.com)

This story adds more proof that the federal monstrosity in D.C. is not only out of control but is also a true enemy of the people who cherish life and our good God!

I know that President Trump is far from perfect, but if he is not elected to the Oval Office in November, then our country will be D.O.A., and that will be the end of America as we know it...

I'll post the entire article here: "WASHINGTON, D.C. (LifeSiteNews) — The two days of sentencing that took place in our nation’s capital on May 14 and 15 demonstrated clearly both the insecurity and aggressiveness of our government’s present persecution of pro-life Americans and the resilience of the “D.C. Nine” pro-lifers who are bearing the brunt of that persecution.

I was there through it all, and it struck me that Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly’s attempt to appear merciful toward the D.C. Nine, who were brought to trial on charges that carried the heavy threat of an 11-year prison sentence, was a form of insecurity. Knowing the case would likely collapse should the actual evidence of what happens in an abortion be allowed to see its day in court, she insisted at every sentencing that “the case is not about abortion” as though afraid to be confronted with the ugly truth of what it actually was these pro-lifers had gone to stop.

On the other hand, Judge Kotelly, appointed by the same president who enacted the egregious FACE Act, which has led to the imprisonement of the D.C. 9, seemed perturbed by the strong and open refusal of every pro-lifer to apologize for having stepped in the way when the life of the precious unborn was at stake.

Kotelly demonstrated her unmerciful will when sentencing 74-year-old infirm Jean Marshall to a further punishment of more than a year in prison despite the abundant testimony about her critical health needs and the lack of proper, essential, urgent medical care during the past nine months of her detainment. The gross medical neglect of both Judge Kotelly and the Alexandria Detention Center – where Jean has been held in custody since last September – as well as the DOJ’s complicity in Marshall’s mistreatment and neglect, was on full display in the courtroom at Jean’s sentencing.

I heard at the sentencing that not only has the judge denied the prescribed hip replacement surgery that Jean Marshall’s doctor scheduled last fall, but when Jean was taken into custody, the jail took from her a medical hip belt, designed to keep her hips even, merely because the belt contained metal. This medical belt was never returned to her, and her condition has significantly worsened, resulting in continual extreme pain in her right leg and, recently, the inability to bend the right knee as well as numbness of the right leg.

The DOJ claimed on Wednesday that there was no documentation submitted to the court regarding Jean Marshall’s urgent health conditions, which her lawyer quickly refuted by reading the letter of her own doctor sent to the judge the day before Marshall was convicted last September. The letter detailed her need for the recommended hip replacement surgery, which was originally scheduled by the same doctor and then canceled because of the judge. The document had been entered into the court’s docket for the trial, but Judge Kotelly appears to have never actually read the letter, as its contents were “news” to her on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, a full 8 months, nearly to the day, after the letter had been sent to her on September 14, 2023.

READ: Elderly pro-lifer Jean Marshall sentenced to 24 months, denied home confinement despite health issues

Nothing less should have been expected of this aggressively pro-abortion judge, who surmised in a pretrial memo that the so called “right to abortion” was perhaps contained in the 13th amendment – which abolished slavery in our nation! – an idea so ridiculous that not even the DOJ opted to use it in their courtroom arguments.

In addition to the serious medical neglect Judge Kotelly and the DOJ are inflicting on Jean Marshall, they have now also effectively rendered her homeless. As Marshall made known to the court, the retirement housing in which she resided prior to incarceration last fall requires the renewal of her residency by next January in order to be maintained. Without either husband or children to do so for her, she will have been evicted from her home by the time she is released from prison under Kotelly’s sentence: an elderly, infirm, Catholic pro-life woman and retired RN rendered homeless at 74 by a pro-abortion judge and DOJ.

On the part of the pro-lifers sentenced over the past two days, our nation has witnessed a resilience that will outlast the pro-abortion Biden DOJ and see its day of vindication.

I was particularly moved when listening to the eloquent John Hinshaw, who, in true Thomas More style, seemed to pronounce sentence on the judge at his own sentencing, reminding her of the One Judge of all, before whom they both will soon appear to answer for their actions regarding the bloody murder of the innocent unborn babies killed throughout America over the decades by abortion.

The only apology that came from Hinshaw that day was a lament that he has not done more than he has done to stand up for, and defend, the defenseless unborn.

Jonathan Darnel, a decorated veteran and retired captain of the U.S. Army, who deployed twice to Iraq, declared that he intended to fulfill both his soldier’s oath to uphold the Constitution and his obligation as a Christian to love his neighbor. Citing the 14th Amendment, he declared the murder of the unborn to be both immoral and illegal, in contradiction to the specious claims of both the judge and the prosecution that the life of the unborn is not protected by American law.

Then the court heard the eloquent words of Jean Marshall, who declared, “Our rights end where another’s begin. And they begin where all of ours do – at conception.” She spoke beautifully on the “God-given right to life” enshrined in and protected by our nation’s own Declaration of Independence and Constitution.

Marshall’s eloquence on the right to life met only with impatience and contempt from the judge, who, interrupting numerous times and insisting that the case “was not about abortion,” could not bear to hear a simple statement defending the right to life of every unborn child given by an imprisoned elderly pro-lifer who has endured nine months of medical maltreatment and neglect.

The unjust sentences pronounced this week, even if shorter than those possible or expected, will serve as evidence of the aggressive pro-abortion agenda of the Biden DOJ and the complicit Clinton-appointed federal judge, Colleen Kollar-Kotelly. If the prosecutors in the case and the judge wished their names to be placed on this potentially precedent-setting case, in which charges of violating FACE were combined with “conspiracy against rights,” then their names will go down in history with infamy when our nation finally acknowledges the horror and devastation of the last five decades, which we have guiltily perpetrated in the slaughter of the innocent through abortion.

This week’s sentences are certainly not the last word on abortion either in Washington, D.C., or in America.

May God bless the courageous “D.C. Nine”, who stood in the breach in defense of life, and may He grant them strength to continue to bear witness before judges and courts.

May Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Author of life and Judge of all, look mercifully upon their sufferings and bring their undaunted testimony to full fruit by purging every corner of our land of the crime of abortion.

“For the sake of the joy which lay before Him, Christ endured the Cross, heedless of its shame.”

May these pro-lifers in like manner endure their cross, for love of Him, heedless of the shame with which the world tries to break them."

Louis Knuffke has been reporting the sentencing hearings of the D.C. 9 from the courtroom.

End of article, but not the end of the story...

It Is "Madness" To Believe That The Sovereignty Of Your Nation Must Be Maintained With A Secure Border!

To be precise, here is the definition of "madness": extremely foolish, irrational, or reckless behavior: state of frenzied or chaotic activity...

Is it madness to maintain a secure border to preserve the state's sovereignty?

According to the Bishop of Rome, Bergoglio, also known as Pope Francis, it is madness!

It seems that if you are a conservative -- whatever that means these days -- you are also "mad"!

I will also make some comments (in red)...

See if you can detect the lunacy in the following story from IBTimesPope Calls Anti-migrant Attitudes At US Border 'Madness' (msn.com)

"Pope Francis made a foray into the US election season with a rare television interview Sunday, calling harsh anti-migrant attitudes "madness" and criticizing right-wing US Catholic figures for overly conservative stances against his social teachings.

Frist, Bergoglio has no business inserting his errant opinions into our upcoming elections!  Second, he has now opened a pandora's box that he must now deal with... Third, if Bergoglio is the true leader of the (novus ordo) Catholic Church, then why doesn't he publicly ex-communicate those "Catholics" who want to kill pre-born babies even up to the time they are ready to come out of the womb?  E.g., the baby killer in-charge, Biden, for one... There are many!

It is also apparent that Bergoglio hates America, especially "right wing conservatives" most vehemently!

As for his "social teachings," many supposed teachings of Bergoglio directly violate true Catholic Church teachings!

Speaking in his native Spanish through a translator for more than an hour, Francis told CBS News program "60 Minutes" that the closing by the state of Texas of a Catholic charity offering humanitarian assistance was absurd.

It is a fact that "Catholic Charities" are assisting illegal aliens sneak into our nation and are using the "charities" moniker to push their anti-American agenda by flooding the country with illegals...

Texas has every right to try to secure their massive border since the traitors in D.C. won't...

"That is madness. Sheer madness. To close the border and leave them there, that is madness. The migrant has to be received," the pope said.

We have every right to secure our border from the likes of monsters such as MS13, druggies and sex-slavers!

"Thereafter you see how you are going to deal with him. Maybe you have to send him back, I don't know, but each case ought to be considered humanely," Francis said.

Tell me, Bergoglio, what is "humane" about the hundreds of American citizens raped, killed, kidnapped and maimed by those madmen coming through the sieve that is our southern border?   "Funny," how you never address that!  Tunnel vision I suppose...

Record numbers of migrants have been seeking to enter the United States, largely from Central America and Venezuela, as they flee poverty, violence and disasters exacerbated by climate change.

That still does not give anyone the right to enter the country illegally, which, by the way, is a violation of the federal laws still on the books...

Of course, Bergoglio has to throw in the faux "climate change" nonsense...

The matter has emerged as a top political issue in the November US election, with ["]President["] Joe Biden's Republican challenger, former president Donald Trump, pushing the topic front and center.

(My brackets around the word president, as Biden was installed, not elected.)

"The globalization of indifference" on migrants, Francis said, "is a very ugly disease."

Globalization, indifference??  Funny words to use... I know what globalization is, and what indifference is, but what the heck is the globalization of indifference??

We all know that Bergoglio is, perhaps, one of the biggest pushers for a one-world-order, one-world-religion, one-world-governance intent on reducing the population of the earth by the billions -- in order to "save the planet"!!  This is pure lunacy coming from the supposed pope of the church!

Francis, 87, also addressed criticisms by conservative US bishops who oppose his efforts to revisit certain teachings and traditions.

It is always a good thing to "revisit" and better understand doctrine and dogma, but it is an evil thing to change or cancel the perennial teachings of the true Catholic Church.  This has been the hallmark -- the goal -- of the papacy of Bergoglio since his installation by the St. Gallen Mafia...

A "conservative is one who clings to something and does not want to see beyond that," he said when asked about the bishops, adding "it is a suicidal attitude."

Dare!  Dare any decent, God-fearing bishop that stands up to the madness of the apostate sitting in the Chair of St. Peter, and they will get fired, cancelled and thrown to the wolves, post-haste!

Since his election in 2013, Pope Francis has insisted on the importance of a church open to all, including member of the LGBT community, but he has faced strong resistance from conservative Catholics.

Let's keep in mind that the true Catholic Church, is, in fact, open to all, and inclusive, but not the way Bergoglio wants the church to be... He has consistently encouraged those sodomites and apostates to continue in their sinful ways refusing to charitably admonish them and warn them of their impending doom if they don't confess, do penance and amend their lives.

Why is that??

There was a particularly strong reaction when Francis opened the door to the blessing of gay couples last year, especially in African countries.

This is beyond sick!  Evil cannot be "blessed," period!!

And what good is it, if a cleric doesn't admonish the sinner to change their ways???

Calling gay people "a human fact," Francis said in the interview: "To bless each person, why not? The blessing is for all."

Truly nonsensical!

The pontiff also touched on the controversial topic of sex abuse within the Catholic Church.

He has made combatting sexual assault in the Church one of the main missions of his papacy, and insisted on a "zero tolerance" policy following multiple wide-reaching scandals.

"Unfortunately, the tragedy of the abuses is enormous," he told CBS, adding that abuse "cannot be tolerated."

Look up a "priest" by the name of Rupnik and discover for yourself the filth and sacrilege attributed to this apostate -- who had his ex-communication lifted by none other than Bergoglio!

"When there is a case of a religious man or woman who abuses, the full force of the law falls upon them," Francis said.

But, he added, "there has been a great deal of progress."

Really??

End of this "mad" article...

Pray always for the defeat of these wolves in sheep's clothing!

And, too, for strength and honor!

Viva Cristo Rey!  Bl. Fr. Miguel Pro, Fr. Emil Kapaun and Fr. Vincent Capodanno, pray for us...

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle...

Marxist, Baby Killer -- The Governor Of California, Newsom -- Is Against The Death Penalty???

  Wait a minute!

How can Newsom claim to be against the death penalty, when he imposes the death penalty against innocent, defenseless pre-born babies??

Not only is this apostate "Catholic" a hypocrite, but he's also a mass murderer!

Of course, there is more to the story and, again, of course, wouldn't you know it that the supposed leader of the (novus ordo) Catholic Church figures prominently in this slaughter!

How?

By heaping praise for Newsom in his quashing the death penalty in California, while, at the same time, ignoring Newsom's continued attack on the precious gift of life -- the pre-born baby, that's how...

Newsom and other culture of death maniacs, met with Bergoglio at the Vatican to push more slaughter in the form of population control and elimination of the most vulnerable of the earth.

Was the word slaughter actually used?  No, but the apostates -- including Bergoglio -- are onboard with the globalists and their demonic initiatives to reduce the population of the earth by the billions!

Our Lord tells us that by their fruits we will know them...

How correct He was -- and is!

We see this in spades with the likes of those anti-life, anti-Christ lunatics that Bergoglio continually appoints to "advisory boards" to implement a one-world-order, a one-world-government as well as radical efforts to combat "climate change"...

Now I ask you: did Bergoglio admonish the apostate baby killers he invited to the Vatican to stop their incessant attacks on the pre-born, warning them that their immortal souls are in jeopardy?

Nope.

Does Bergoglio know that Newsom and Kathy Hochul (governor of New York) are proponents of abortion up to birth?

Yep.

But all he does is to proclaim and foster his errant teaching that the death penalty is no longer "admissible"...

One more thing... It is true Church teaching that we are guilty of grave (that's mortal sin!) if we are accomplices by encouraging or heaping praise on those who kill!

Do these "Catholics" even know that the Fifth Commandment still exists!

Please read the following article from the LA Times and written by Taryn Luna:  Newsom leaves the Vatican with pope's praise for refusing to impose the death penalty (msn.com)

As you will see, there is not one word about Newsom's radical abortion agenda, not one!

Hypocrites all!

"In an opulent hall in the Apostolic Palace framed in marble and adorned with Renaissance murals, Gov. Gavin Newsom waited in a line of governors, mayors and scientists for an opportunity to greet Pope Francis.

The queue wasn’t the ideal setup envisioned by the governor’s advisors. Newsom traveled more than 6,000 miles from California to the Vatican to give a speech before — and hopefully talk with — the pope about climate change.

Pope Francis, however, had other topics on his mind besides the warming planet.

“I was struck by how he immediately brought up the issue of the death penalty and how proud he was of the work we’re doing in California,” Newsom said afterward. “I was struck by that because I wasn’t anticipating that, especially in the context of this convening.”

The talk was brief and informal. But the politically astute head of the Roman Catholic Church still took advantage of the moment to support one of Newsom’s most controversial actions as governor.

Through executive order two months after his inauguration, Newsom issued a temporary moratorium on the death penalty and ordered the dismantling of the state’s execution chambers at San Quentin State Prison. Families of murder victims criticized the decision, and legal scholars called it an abuse of power.

Newsom's refusal to impose the death penalty could hurt him politically if he runs for president.

As a Catholic, however, the governor's decree is in line with the church and the pope’s teachings.

In an interview with The Times after he left the Vatican, Newsom said he has yet to propose a statewide ballot measure to abolish the death penalty because he doesn’t have confidence that it would pass. California voters rejected measures to ban executions in 2012 and 2016.

Newsom said recent polls conducted by his political advisors show soft support for a ban.

“We constantly put it in our surveys that I do,” Newsom said in an interview with The Times. “It’s in the margin. But I'm thinking a lot about this beyond that because we're reimagining death row. I'm thinking about when I'm leaving; I mean, I've been pretty honest about that. I'm trying to figure out what more can I do in this space.”

There were more than 730 inmates on death row when Newsom took office. Death row at San Quentin was the largest of any prison in the Western Hemisphere. Under his plan to reform the prison to emphasize rehabilitation, Newsom said California is just weeks from emptying death row entirely.

The governor said he was outspoken about his opposition to capital punishment when he campaigned in 2018. He endorsed the 2012 and 2016 ballot measures to abolish the death penalty.

"I campaigned very openly as lieutenant governor, as governor. I went out of my way to say, 'If you elect me, this is what I'm going to do,'" Newsom said. "And also I have the legal authority. So I wasn't challenging that."

Currently, 21 of the 50 states impose the death penalty. The remaining 29 either have no death penalty or paused executions due to executive action — including California, according to the Death Penalty Information Center.

Newsom's moratorium might not play well with voters in some swing states in a potential presidential campaign, adding to perceptions that leftist California and the Democratic governor are soft on crime and misaligned with the rest of the nation. The governor has repeatedly dismissed speculation that he's eyeing the White House, and he has actively campaigned for President Biden's reelection.

Kevin Eckery, a political consultant who has worked with the Catholic Church in California, said the death penalty isn't going to be a deciding factor in an election.

"Nationally, the death penalty has been carried out so infrequently for the last 50 years that I don't see people voting based on your position on [the] death penalty," Eckery said. "They are going to vote on pocketbook issues. They are going to vote on other things, but not that issue."

The Catholic Church has long said the death penalty could be justified only in rare situations. Francis updated church doctrine in 2018 to say “the death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person."

Newsom lunched in an arched courtyard covered in jasmine at the American Academy in Rome after he, in a speech at the Vatican, accused former President Trump of “open corruption” by soliciting campaign donations from oil executives.

Sitting in a weathered wood chair under the shade of a tree, the governor explained how his Catholic background and the inequities in the criminal justice system influenced his refusal to sign off on executions as governor.

His paternal grandparents were devout Catholics, and his late father, William Newsom, who served as a state appellate court justice, went to church every day growing up, he said.

Later in life, Newsom’s father considered himself “a Catholic of the distance,” the governor said, and “kind of pushed away” because of the politics of the church.

Newsom said Jesuit teachings at Santa Clara University, where he attended college, spoke a language he appreciated “of faith and works.” His own religious beliefs, he said, have always been exercised "around a civic frame."

“The Bible teaches many parts, one body,” Newsom said, mentioning a quote he often references. “One part suffers, we all suffer, and this notion of communitarianism.

“You can't get out of Santa Clara University without the requisite studies and sort of a religious baseline: God and common thought type frames," he said.

As a Catholic and San Francisco native, Newsom said his beliefs follow “the Spirit of St. Francis" and the idea of being good to others, but not necessarily a strict religious doctrine.

The governor said he attended the private Catholic school École Notre Dame des Victoires in San Francisco for a short time during early elementary school. He said his family often attended Glide Memorial, a nondenominational church in San Francisco. The governor said he attended church on Easter with his family.

Newsom mentioned religion at other points during his trip, telling reporters outside the hall where he spoke at the Vatican about the importance of the bridge between science and the pope's moral authority on climate change.

"As we know from church, it's faith and works," Newsom said. "So, as we pray, we move our feet. It's that action with our passion."

Daniel Philpott, a professor of political science at the University of Notre Dame, said it's smart for politicians in either party to talk about faith.

"We've learned over the last 30 years that presidential candidates in general benefit when they can be shown to be religious, or practicing their religious faith," Philpott said.

Newsom said he didn't want to overplay the influence of religion on his position on the death penalty, which his father also opposed.

His father and grandfather were involved in the case of Pete Pianezzi, a friend who was wrongfully convicted of first-degree murder in the shooting and killing a gambler and busboy in Los Angeles in 1937.

Pianezzi escaped the death penalty by a single vote and served 13 years in prison. He was later exonerated.

Even if it were possible to limit inequity and wrongful convictions in the criminal justice system, Newsom said he would still be against the death penalty.

"It just never made sense to me, the basic paradigm, that we were going to kill people to communicate to the general public that killing is wrong," he said. "I could never understand that. I could never sanction that."

One last thing... Right now, it seems that Satan and his demonic minions have the upper hand in this corrupt world, that's just a fact.   But we have the promise that the gates of hell will never prevail against what is left of the true Church, whether it be a tiny Remnant of the Elect, or, perhaps, only one or two faithful Catholics when Our Lord returns to set things right once and for all!
