Brian D. Kelly, R.I.P.... (My Own Personal Theologian!)

  On November 9, 2022, my friend -- and my own personal theologian -- Brian D. Kelly, passed away at his home in Fitzwilliam/Richmond, New Hampshire.

Below I post the "Member Advisory" from the Friends of Saint Benedict Center that chronicles Brian's evolution from his youth to his many accomplishments as a Soldier of Christ and devotee of our Lord's dear Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary.

But first, I just want to write about a few of my interactions with Brian over the course of twenty-two, well-spent years, while we (my wife, Kathy, our son and I) attended the St. Benedict Center in Richmond, New Hampshire.

During that time, we learned so much about our precious Faith, especially the dogmas of the Catholic faith that one has to come into the Church -- become a Catholic -- in order to obtain the Heavenly Beatitude.  No ifs, ands, or buts, period.

From time to time, I would question Brian about issues in the church and he would graciously help to clear up in my mind any confusion that the evil one loves to inject into those who hold the true faith of Christ, our Lord. 

Brian was also very tolerant of my amateurish attempts at writing articles for the semi-monthly Mancipia newsletter issued by the Center, of which, Brian was the chief editor.

One of our discussions was the modernist infiltration of the Church, making a mockery of some of Her perennial teachings, especially the sacred liturgy that produced Saints and Martyrs over the last 2,000 years...

As Brian's health was failing, my family included him in our daily Rosary... That will continue, but from this point on, we will also pray to him!

BRIAN D. KELLY, RIP

 

The Friends of Saint Benedict Center today are mourning the loss of one of the longtime Members of the Third Order of the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Brian D. Kelly of Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire. Brian died at home on November 9th, after a protracted period of declining health. He was 70 years old. His tertiary name was Brother Michael, MICM, Tert. Brian practiced the First Saturdays Devotion to the Immaculate Heart, and had received all the sacraments just four days prior to his death.

The Irish American son of pious Catholic parents, Brian was born and raised in West Orange, New Jersey, where he attended parochial school. He graduated from Essex Catholic High School in Newark, which was administered by the Christian Brothers of Ireland.

After attending junior college in California, Brian, impelled by the influence of his devout mother, traveled to New England to seek out the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary at the Saint Benedict Center. He would spend the remaining 49 years of life at the Saint Benedict Center, first as a student, and later as a teacher, catechist, writer, editor and lecturer.

Under the tutelage of Brother Francis Maluf, MICM, Brian studied philosophy, theology and New Testament Greek and Latin. He would go on to spend a year studying at the Angelicum in Rome.

For many years, Brian served the Center's apostolate as Editor of their magazine, From The Housetops, their newsletter, Mancipia, and their website, Catholicism.org. He was also a contributing columnist to all three.

From 1999 to 2005, Brian was was editor-in-chief of Loreto Publications. He was a regular speaker at the Saint Joseph Forum in Indiana, and also lectured at the Saint Benedict Center Conferences in New Hampshire.

Brian Kelly was an old and dear friend, a fervent and apostolic Catholic, an erudite scholar, a gifted writer, a devoted husband to his wife Gwendolyn, and a humble and forbearing Christian gentleman. He will be sorely missed.

The Friends of Saint Benedict Center wish to extend our heartfelt condolences, on the occasion of their grievous loss, to Gwen Kelly, to Brian's sister, Mary Sue, and to the rest of Brian's family.

Brian will be waked on Monday, November 14th, at the Cournoyer Funeral Home at 33 River Street, in Jaffrey, New Hampshire, from 2pm to 6pm.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at Saint Stanislaus Parish in Winchester, New Hampshire, at 10am on Tuesday, November 15th.

Burial will be at the Saint Benedict Center in Richmond.

So, The "Red Wave" Or "Tsunami" Turned Out To Be A Tiny Ripple...

  Did you all get your hopes up that the election of a bunch of Republicans was going to save us?

As I have written many times, no one politician or political party can save us, whether as a nation or as individuals.  

There is, in fact -- and the God-fearing know this, that there is only One that can and does save us, that is, if we want to be saved: our Lord and SAVIOR, Jesus the Christ!  

I know that I'm preaching to the choir here, but how many of us thought that there was going to be a political "red wave," or "tsunami" that would have shaken up the national landscape, but instead, it seems, dramatically fizzled out?

Having said that, if we look at the races in many of the "blue states," it has become apparent -- again! -- that there were far too many shenanigans (read: fraud!) concerning who casts the votes and where did they actually come from.  Add to this, the lunacy of some Demonrat voters who, get this, reelected a dead man in Pennsylvania! 

What it all boils down to is that we get what we deserve.  Believe it or not, God allows that to happen to His unbelieving, idolatrous, wayward children.  This has been proven time and time again... My wife and I are currently reading the Old Testament and it's stunning to see how many times the "chosen people" spit in the Face of the Lord, then cry to end the chastisement and beg for forgiveness... 

And even more stunning is that our good God does forgive and bless them -- time after time, after time, after time!  

In the New Testament, St. Peter asks our Lord: how many times should we forgive sins?  Seven times?  Our Lord tells St. Peter: seventy times seven!  

I'm no mathematician, but I figure seventy times seven equals 490.  So, does that mean that we sinful creatures can be forgiven 490 times during the course of our lives, then after that we're out of luck to be left to our own devices and slip into perdition?  

No, not at all... It simply means that if we make a good Confession, are sincere, and make a firm purpose of amendment not to commit those sins again, then the priest will grant us absolution.  In other words, as many times that we have the misfortune to fall from grace, we can return -- as the Prodigal son returned to his jubilant Father!

I know I digressed a wee bit here, but the point is, is that we, as a nation, have grievously transgressed the Natural Law, the Commandments, authentic Church teachings and have basically kicked God out of the public sphere, to be replaced by?  That's easy: Satan and his demonic minions who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls...

To be sure, there were some decent, God-fearing, pro-life Republicans elected to the House, or in the chambers of their particular states, but will that be enough to change the damning course of our beloved country?  

I contend that nothing will really change unless and until there is a genuine conversion of heart, mind and soul -- which starts with us -- and beg God Almighty for forgiveness for squandering and destroying His precious gift of the pre-born baby, not to mention other monstrous sins against the Natural Law and common sense... 

Remember, there is only One that can save us...

The Absolute Abomination -- Madness! -- Of The Novus Ordo "Catholic" "Church"...

 With all the lunacy and heresy emanating from the current regime in the Vatican, you would think that the attack on church teachings and Christ Himself, couldn't get any worse or sick, but I was wrong...

I have two videos for you to watch... They are not easy to watch or listen to, but the truth shall set us free!

The first, comes from Dr. Taylor Marshall and reveals the sick, demented mockery of the consecration of the Holy Eucharist at Mass.

First, as a caveat, I must state that I do not recognize the male dressed up in priestly garb as a priest of Christ!  Just because he wears the Roman collar, does not make him a validly ordained priest, but if he is, in fact, validly ordained, he should be defrocked and sent to a monastery for the rest of his natural life to do "hard" penance in a tiny cell!   

And second, there is no way on the face of this earth that the "consecration" performed in the video was a valid consecration, no way!

Then there is his bishop... How did the bishop let him get away with this bizarre spectacle?  I wonder, too, if the bishop is one of those attackers of the TLM, yet tolerates letting Satan into the sanctuary to mock Christ?

You will see and hear the so-called pope, Bergoglio, regurgitating the horrendous errors of the French Revolution concerning the "rights of man," as opposed to the rights of God Almighty and our obligation to live according to His rights and precepts, not those of the secularists and haters of Christ, nor is there any call to repentance or conversion.  How very despicable and sad...

As always, you must make up your own mind about the abomination of desolation that infects the novus ordo "church"... 

I would urge anyone who attends the novus ordo, to listen very carefully to what is being preached from the pulpit, very carefully, in order to discern if authentic Church teaching is being taught, or some new gospel message is slowly brainwashing the parishioners and their precious children... 

Remember St. Paul's admonishment that if anyone preaches a new or different gospel other than what you have been taught either by our word or our epistle, let him be anathema! 

And finally, I would urge all those who attend the novus odor to seek out a TLM and cling to it for dear, spiritual life!

Catholic Bishop, Or Treasonous Judas?

  Folks, if anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear needs any more proof that the Catholic faithful have been sold a bill of goods over the last 60 years by those who are supposed to be the successors of the Apostles, then here it is -- in spades!

Look, I know that there are some "good" bishops (and priests) and maybe a cardinal or two, but that number is miniscule compared to what passes for the shepherds who were promoted to the high office of bishop with the charism of leading the flock to Christ, our Lord.  But, in reality, just the opposite is true.  And this reality is now apparent -- if it wasn't before -- since the installation of the current occupant of the Chair of St. Peter, Bergoglio, back in 2013.   

During the Reagan days, there was a policy of "trickledown economics" where the guy on the bottom of the economic ladder would eventually see and experience some of the benefits of a thriving economy.  Well, in the novus ordo "church," that same trickledown scheme is at work, but this time, what is trickling down is the gangrenous, diseased filth of apostacy, heresy, appeasement and compromise that starts from the top and filters down to the "bishops," then, to what is left of the confused, non-believing "faithful" sitting in almost empty pews having embraced the false "values" of the world, e.g., contraception, abortion, sodomy, divorce, and the ever-present, it seems, alphabet soup people...

Both cover the same incredible story of a persecuted priest who dared to preach the truth from the pulpit only to be sanctioned by his "bishop"!  But the story doesn't end there... The "bishop" then goes on to -- get ready for this! -- APOLOGIZE -- to the woke barbarians, including those who claim the august handle of Catholic...

  What?

Are we living in a parallel universe?

I thought we (Catholics) are supposed to be devout!

But as I just wrote: are we living in a parallel universe?

Black is white; night is day; right is wrong; evil is good, etc., etc., etc...

One of my favorite parables from the Bible is St. Luke chapter 18:9-14, the Pharisee and the tax collector...

Of course, we know that the Pharisee brags about his "goodness" to God in the temple, while the lowly -- and admittedly -- sinful tax collector dares not even raise his eyes up to the Holy of Holies, but instead beats his breast and begs for mercy, and, as our Lord proclaims, this man (the tax collector) went home JUSTIFIED!  (In a state of grace, that is!)

It will show -- in spades -- the ultimate hypocrisy of the self-proclaimed "devout Catholics" inhabiting the highest offices in the land of the free and the home of the brave.

As practicing, devout Catholics, we must discern -- that means to make judgments! -- as to the objective, obvious good or evil of those around us.  If we fall prey to the "judge not lest ye be judged" improperly interpreted nonsense, then we can easily be persuaded to follow the Judas goat over the cliff to our spiritual death...

Of course, the worst hypocrisy flows from those in power in the ecclesiastical realm and trickles down to the lay faithful, or those who are trying to be faithful to our Lord and His holy Church.

We see this on an almost daily basis with heresies and idolatrous actions and words that directly contradict the authentic Magisterium and the dogmas of our holy Faith, emanating, sadly, from the very Bishop of Rome, Bergoglio...

Where, according to Bergoglio, truly devout Catholics (traditional Catholics, that is) are the real enemies of Christianity! 

Weird!

Well, maybe not so weird after all, because we -- traditional Catholics -- are the last line of defense against the new-world-order globalists and their cronies in the Vatican attempting to destroy the last vestiges of the Church of Christ... 

We have to pray for the conversion of Bergoglio and his nest of vipers -- and for the defeat of their diabolical agenda... And for strength and honor!

The question then begs: Why should these Frankenstinian miscreants fulfill the Second Great commandment to love thy neighbor?  Because they don't believe in the First Great Commandment to love God!
